Pregnant, Breastfeeding and post WLS... possible?
I just found out thta I'm preggo, and I'm still nursing my 10 month old daughter. I'd really like to keep nursing her, but everything I'm reading about geting enough nutrition for the bean, the nursling, and mama is scaring me. If it's that hard for "regular" people, how the heck can I do it??
Anyone been here? Got advice?
I need support, my mother and all my friends are telling me to just quit nursing and I really don't want to do that - seems like it's not fair to my baby daughter....

DON"T stop nursing your daughter unless your doctor tells you you have to. Don't listen to your mom or friends. Breastmilk is better for your baby than formula ... even some breast milk is better than none.
I am pregnant with my 3rd post op baby. I nursed my firstpost op baby into my second pregnancy, I started with bad spotting and cramping and had to stop. My baby was almost a year old and was eating solids so the forced weaning was not horrible. It was not what I wanted to do, but my dr thought it was necessary to sustain the new pregnancy. So listen to your doc and forget everyone else.
I conceived post op baby number 3 when my nursling was a year old. She was nursing 8 ish times a day and still through the night until she was 17 months old, she is now 19 months old and nurses every few days for comfort than anything.
I will tell you the further you get in pregnancy, you may see a decrease in milk supply. My dwindled around month 5 of pregnancy. At that point my dd was weaning herself. I think she knew the milk was decreasing.
Are you your baby's sole source of nutrition? At 10 months "I" would introduce some food before I would introduce formula. If she needs more than you can supply, you could try giving her food vs a bottle of formula. That would be my route. I would use formula if I had to and I have used formula, but it would be my last resort.
Google tandm breastfeeding, check kellymom.com, call LaLeche League. They will all have ideas and encouragement for you to do this.
This is a pretty jumbled post .. I ws trying to get my thoughts down and was going to edit it ... but I have a screaming baby and have to go ... if you have any questions, feel free to pm me.
