Hi, everyone!

Just wanted to post a quickie update.  I had my first ultrasound yesterday at 10w5d and everything is going along wonderfully!  The baby was super active... little legs kicking and arms moving about.  We didn't get to hear the heartbeat, but you sure could see it!  It's amazing how you could love someone so much when you haven't even met them!

I had lost 4 pounds since my last visit a month ago, and my doc was pleased.  I've been eating really well and getting moderate exercise.  My husband asked when we will be able to determine the gender, and she said she doesn't recommend having an ultrasound for that until 24 weeks.  Apparently lots of people go around 16-18 weeks and are told one thing, and then deliver something different!  So I guess we'll be playing the waiting game until mid to late October. (Which will be cool because our 3rd wedding anniversary is October 20th!)

I forgot to ask about the heartrate because I was too busy marveling at the picture.  LOL.  Maybe next time.

Anyway, here's baby's first picture!

Aww grats on the great ultrasound!

With my twins, I had an ultrasound at 18 weeks and it was VERY obvious they were little girls. At my OB's practice it's standard to do a 20 week anatomy scan and that when they usually tell you the sex (if the baby cooperates).

Thanks!  My OB said that I could go and get a gender scan around 20 weeks if I wanted to, but that it's usually not the most accurate until after 24 weeks.  It's not a biggie... I'll go twice!  But I have to pay $50 out of pocket.

YAY! Congrats!!! MY OB's office does the standard 20 week anatomy scan too and that's when they will tell you the gender if you want to know.

So glad that all is well
