It's pretty crazy!  I'm all excited and nervous and I can't believe in about a month or so I'm going to be somebody's MOM.

Hey There,

Congrats!

I don't frequent here as often any more as I am not pregnant (although I LOVED being pregnant!).  My Little Man is 13 months old already.

I was 3.5 years post DS when I got pregnant....   I gained weight fast - like 20lbs in the first 4 months and then gained/lost another 7-10 lbs over the next 5 months.

My iron dipped low and I had to take extra (tender iron from Vitalady) and I took 100,000 IU of dry vitamin D a day and my K was really low so I took dry K with a probiotic.  My WLS wanted my labs every 2 weeks... but I compromised with him on every month.  I was also considered "high risk" because I asked to be and got monthly appointments/ultrasounds with the "Maternal Fetal" OB.

Cooper was born 6 days late (40 weeks, 6 days) and weighed 7lbs 1 oz.  He is now 13 months and over 30lbs and wearing 2T clothes.  He's a big boy.

Keep tabs on your vitamin levels, add carbs in (good ones if you can) and enjoy it!  I loved loved loved being pregnant and if cirumstances allowed I'd be pregnant again right now!

I am ashamed to admit I haven't lost all my baby weight - but that's my fault because I stopped exerising and have given into the carb monster (cookies, crackers, bread, etc) again.  I know I could easily lose the weight if I tried.

Keep us updated on your progress!

Cindy

Thanks everyone for your positive and welcoming adice.  New question...wondering how many calories I should shoot for daily while pregnant? I have no problem eating at this point and I don't count calories at this point but I think I get in 1100-2000 a day.

Hmm... on an average day post-DS now days I eat 3500-5000 calories just to maintain (full fat, etc).

When I was pregnant I ate probably 7000-8000 calories a day and still towards the end I was losing/gaining/losing (up and down).

I focused on meats, cheeses, I added in bread and fruits.  I admit I ate a lot of bacon (bad me) and a lot of butter & cheese sandwiches and potato chips because that's what I craved.

I ate a full meal every hour or two !   It was crazy.  (I loved it!)  :-)

I would say focus on eating healthy and getting in as much protein as possible and good carbs instead of focussing on calories.  (Unless the baby isn't growing....)

I know I mentioned it before.... but I loved being pregnant!
