how many calories?

My nut told me to strive for 1700 - where do you guys fall and how do you fit it all in? 

I started at 324lbs and a size 26.  After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011.  My second daughter was born in September 2013.  I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs.  I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter.  The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls.  My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.

I am getting no more than 800 now mostly because I am way to sick to eat! I try and snack throughout the day. I was told by the nurse at the doctors office that I only need 300 more calories, at that time I was only taking in about 600, and I said, so 900 calories is ok? and her jaw dropped! You probably should listen to your nut.

After a brief stint in the ER a week ago and was told that I had ketones in my urine, which can cause brain damage to an unborn baby...needless to say eat as much as it's going to take to keep your body out of ketosis. I was advised to up my calories to stay out of the "danger zone" to 1695. Not sure why the odd number, but I strive for that number but of course I'm only 7 months out, so getting that much in is a constant struggle for which I'm not always successful. I thank god they checked my urine for ketones, because I thought at 800 calories... I was well fed and busting at the seems. I guess that wasn't the case for my body. Good luck, but definitely check with your Nutritionist, but in the mean time I would eat as often as possible until you're seen, so that you're not in ketosis.

Right now I fall between 1500-1700 calories a day (I track on fitday.com) and I'm still dropping weight like crazy (2-3 lbs a week).
This is eating every 3 hours, protein shakes with whole milk, full fat cheese and crackers, full fat cream cheese and 1/2 a bagel. My morning sickness is still pretty awful so it's hard to get much in.
