First Childbirth Class Tonight!
I just got back from my gestational diabetes appointment......the dietician wasn't much help. Every dietician acts like they have never heard of RNY, let alone dealing with all of the complications that I have had.......oh, well...that's why the internet exists. I have to test about 6 times a day and try to get in 2200 calories, which is an impossibility. I have an OB appointment on Wednesday and a surgeon appointment on Thursday so hopefully between the three of us we can come up with something a little more realistic.
Having said all of that..lol, I have my first childbirth class tonight. I am really nervous because I don't know what to expect. I am trying to find something to wear, the only comfortable thing ltely are sundresses and I know that it isn't apropriate.
Anyone have any insight on what we should expect??
Thanks ladies!! You all are wonderful!
DH and I loved ours, it was geared towards parents expect multiples so it was a pretty small class size and we became good friends with several other couples in the class (our kids now have playdates togehter)
The first class is pretty much getting to know the instructor, a list of what will be covered and getting to know the other people. We always ended with breathing /meditation/relaxation techniques which was nice.
I wouldn't worry to much about what to wear, these things are casual. Heck, everyone else is pregnant and in the same boat as you so wear what ever feels comfortable.
As for the class, I wore sweatpants or shorts. I am glad I did too cuz we were on the floor a lot doing back massages and breathing excersises. We too really enjoyed our class.
Have Fun!

I know I saw my surgeons dietition when I found out I was preggers and would go see her again if I would have GD. There is no way I would see the one at my OB's office unless I talk to her first about what expeience they have with WLS patients. Good luck with all of it.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Girl, i say wear whatever makes you most comfortable. I LOVED my childbirth classes. The only thing with wearing a dress is that you may find it uncomfortable if you plan on practicing positioning and massage techniques since you may be on the floor depending upon what type of childbirth classes you are taking. As long as your dress is long enough... For us, we had our instruction in desks and then at the end of the class everyone got on the floor. We were told to bring pillows and a blanket.
I found it so educational, even though this is my second time around. Have fun and ask a lot of questions!
Please let us know how it goes...
