I have a high risk pregnancy due to an incompetent cervix and will be 18 weeks this week. I am put on modified bed rest. If anyone has any clues on how to stay sane for the next 20 weeks please let me know. I've watched a ton of TV, read books, played games, etc.... Thank you!

My modified bed rest meant no sex, no lifting over five pounds, no exercise, and just rest on weekends. I could still work, grocery shop, etc.

Right now I am on full bed rest - was taken off work and can do nothing but lay on couch or in bed and can only get up to shower, bathroom, and go to doctor appt.

Now, I play games on computer, read, watch tv, and that is about it. If you have a hobby: jewelry making, knitting, crochet, or cross stitch?

Wow, I am really sorry. That is brutal. Do you sew or knit/crochet? There are lots of charities out there that you could make items for. I always said if I was put on bedrest that is what i would do because it would make me feel like I had purpose. I hope all goes well.

I can't sew but I make tie blankets for a charity here. Great idea!

I was on bedrest with my twins starting at 20 weeks.

I had DH buy some photo albums and I organized all our pictures I had been meaning to organize for years. I also worked on a scrapbook for my twins, caught up on several seasons of TV shows and did a lot of word search puzzles.
To keep from loosing my mind, I taught myself to crochet by checking out a few book on learning to crochet from the public library and worked on several projects for myself and my babies. By the time they were born, I was really good at it and had made a bunch of blankets, booties and hats for them.
Are there any crafts you're interested in? now's a good time to pick up a new hobby.

I don't have much for advice, just hope you have a laptop to keep in touch. If you crochet or quilt or sew maybe you could make a blanket or something for your baby. If you don't, maybe you could teach yourself. Do you paint or draw? Easy for me to say...I can't do any of that! LOL

Not to sound stupid, but what exactly is an "incompetent cervix"?

Best wishes. Hope you stay good and healthy.

Congratulations on your baby!!!  Play Farmville, it's so much fun, kinda addictive (shhh) and you meet a lot of great people and you have so much fun....

Hope to see you there...

I had a Shridokar cerclage put in a few weeks ago which should of helped this but my cervix is still being difficult. I have no hobbies. I'm thinking of learning Spanish. I have the Rosetta Stone for it. I might as well. I might try to teach myself to crochet. I play Farmville/CafeWorld on my facebook. I also play Sims games too. I'm allowed to go to the doctor and that's it for leaving the house. I lay either in the bed or on the couch and only get up to go to the bathroom, get a snack/drink or shower. That's it. Thank you for your ideas ladies. Any thoughts and/or  prayers also would be appreciated.I I lost a daughter 10 years ago (3 hours after birth at 24 weeks) and took this long to retry and now this isn't going so well. I just don't know if I could deal with losing another one.
