Questions......32 weeks along

Hi everyone!

Most of you know I have moved and things are going OK.  Some money issues coming from the left and right, but the family has settled down about the move.  I feel a little less stressed and glad to be near my drs and hospital.  I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but I won't be seen until Monday.  (seems a little late to me, but I'm not the dr...lol)

My weight has been increasing and I have been retaining so much fluid my legs (and sometimes hands) burn.  My back is killing me.....but it hurts in the same place that it has since my RNY.  (Another symptom my surgeon can't seem to connect to anything)  I am having pain near my pouch and am still constantly nauseous.  Essentially, I am miserable....

I guess my question is, with the abdominal pain and back pain, although they seem like the complications from my RNY, should I call the OB?  I have a small headache, was up vomiting last night and just generally not hungry, too.  I also have a horrible taste in my mouth.....nothing makes it go away.

I don't think I have had braxton hicks contractions, I don't feel my abdomen tighten or anything.

I guess I'm just a nervous nelly........thanks for always being here!  You guys are the greatest!

I would call the OB - the terrible taste in your mouth could be ketosis and if it is something needs to be done (you need to eat more carbs) it could also be a symtom of the gestational diabetes. Better safe then sorry!! I know it seems against the grain but get in your fluids, it will help with the swelling.

After my RNY I was down almost 100 pounds and had the worst back problems of my life. I started seeing a chiropractor and she works wonders. SHe told me that I was loosing the fat cushioning between my vertebrae as well as every where else. This allows the bone to rub against eachother. I have chronic degenerative disk disease as well as herniated disks. I didn't know any of this pre-op because it was cushioned. Now with proper care it is well managed. I had 3 rounds of cortisone shots that worked wonders too.

I am so glad that your family is better about the move.

I could feel my BH contractions from the outside too - it was a strange feeling. And believe me - you'll know a real one when it hits! I was so afraid that I wouldn't. THere is no mistaking it though

Just think - less then 2 months and you'll be holding your miracle!!

I say call the doc. Retaining fluid in your hands along with a headache can be a sign of preeclampsia or high blood pressure. I had that in my first pregnancy, and you want to make sure you get that under control. Good luck to you, hopefully it's nothing serious.
