Bleeding?

Ok, weird, posted this a few minutes ago and it isn't showing up...

This is my third post op pregnancy, but this one is a surrogacy for a couple here.  Anyway, luckily, I got pregnant the first time just like my other two....however, I have had more cramping that I think is normal, but not horrific any more. My dr says it is normal, but this far out (maybe 7 weeks or so) I am not thinking so. I have no history of miscarriage. I had a trans-vaginal ultrasound, fairly aggressive tech, last Friday and ever since then I have had some some brown, and sometimes pink, discharge.  Nothing major, but enough to wear a panty liner and see it almost every time I pee on the first wipe of toilet paper. It is about 87% brown and 13% pink.  No red. I hesitate to call the dr because he is a jerk, but is this normal? NEVER had this with my other two---not one drop of any color discharge the entire pregnancy, so this is worrying me. Any thoughts? Normal, not?? TIA

Spotting can be totally normal. It's when it's red you worry. Or if the cramping is bad. If it makes you feel better I would call the Dr.

It's probably from the ultrasound. I've had that happen before.

It could be a m/c, but unfortunately if it is there's nothing they can do to stop it at your gestational age (yes those are the most frustrating words ever, I hope you never have to hear them from your Dr)... since you said it's a surrogacy, it is possible that it's a genetic malfunction that could cause a m/c since you have no history....

That being said, unless it get's worse or turns really red I would go with the assumption that it's the tech's fault. Your cervix and everything else downthere is really extra sensative right now and rubbing it with a foreign object (ie... sonogram wand) would cause some irritation.

Good luck. I hope that's all it is.

Brown and slightly pink is totally normal.  The red and a lot is what you should worry about.  I had some major cramping with Libby and this pregnancy, but so far so good.  We heard the heart beat on our home doppler last week, I believe, and I will probably listen again tonight.  Libby loves to ask to hear the baby :)  I have to tell her the baby is sleeping so she will leave me alone LOL.  Good luck :)
Oh, and if you think your doctor is a jerk now, I would definitely think about switching.  Or, is this just the IVF doc?

No IVF...it is a traditional surrogacy...meaning my egg.  We did home insemination.  They provided a sample, then I go into the guest room and inject! Then I sit with my butt in the air for an hour. lol Glamorous, huh? :-) And that is our fam dr...no great shakes, but we don't have to deal with him too often.  He does uncomplicated pregnancies, but he is rather bossy and rude. I am definately going to search for a REAL ob tomorrow.

Hey now, that sounds like fun!  That sounds like my kinda action LOL Poor hubby so deprived.
Definitely find a good OB.  I wish I knew someone in your area that  I could ask.  If you were in Phx I have the bestest OB ever!  Although, I have the bestest family doc ever, too.  I hope you find one that you like and that takes good care of you :-)

Hope your doing okay, try to stay quiet and calm. I bled for a month, and all the docs and er kept telling me everything was fine. So far so good. HOpe the same goes with you.

I bled everyday from week 11 until 17 and it was quite scary. I had a subchorionic hemmorhage and a complete previa.  They have both resolved now.  If it is still there Mon. I would call, they may want to do an ultrasound.  Good luck and I think it is awsome what you are doing.
