Who To Believe.....
Ok ladies...
I had an interesting interaction this afternoon. As you know, I have been planning for a girl since we got the 85% sure from the dr and us tech. Well, I was in Target today and went back to the restroom. A woman was coming out of the family restroom struggling with her stroller, she apologized and I ask if she needed help. Then I said, "I will know how you feel in a few months" To which she replied, you look due in September......amazing because I am. Then she proceeded to tell me I was a having a boy.....A Boy?? So I said that they are telling me a girl. She said she is a maternity nurse and she could tell by the way I was carrying that it was a boy. Then her friend, also a maternity nurse came over and they discussed it.....lol She said it looked like a boy to her, too.
They gave me some additional hints and told me to get back home and get some rest. Apparently they could see the swelling in my hands, legs, feet and ankles.
That was too weird........I called my sister, who is planning the shower, and told her about the interaction. She said that she sent out pink invitations.....lol The dr has promised a couple more ultrasounds, so maybe I can get confirmation before the big day. If not, daddy will be running out buying boy things in the event the baby is a boy.
Just wante to share......

There is a saying that boys give beauty and girls take it away. My cousin had a boy and was not glowing or anything. She got puffy like her sister and sister-in=law and they both had girls. I don't believe anything other than when the kid comes out.

My mom was a maternity nurse and she used to hate it when her colleagues played that "game" After all, they have a 50% chance of getting it right. Ultrasounds do make mistakes, but usually they are pretty good. If the images were blurry and unclear, then I might be worried. I've had both, and the pregnancies were not that different. Everyone is always into the guessing game! Good luck though, I hope for your sakes it is a girl. Keep any receipts and register at places so you can return things for credit.

I would go with the ultrasound but have them check again when you have another one just in case. I have a good friend who had an ultrasound at 20 weeks and they told her girl - well Greg was born 100% BOY. I didn't know the gender of our baby and a few times the Dr would say "good strong boy heartbeat" but when I went in for my NSTs (I had 2 because I wasn't feeling right) the nurses in L&D all told me positively girl. I had a girl. of course I knew since before I got that positive EPT that I was pregnant and it was a girl. Just a hunch.
Good luck!

I'm sure it's not going to matter to you one way or the other once s/he gets here. How clear was the u/s? When I was pg w/my son...I knew it was a boy w/o the tech even pointing anything out to me. His legs were spread wide open and I could see it all right there on the screen even w/my untrained eye.

a lot of 'seasoned' people say things like that. Some believe that boys carry lower than girls and blah blah blah..... the gender of the baby doesn't determine things like that. Placement of the placenta, mother's waist size, height, baby's size.... position baby's in.... those things do. I would go with the sonogram. That being said.... sometimes when they tell you it's a girl they are wrong. Not often, but it's like 5% which is a big deal if you fall into it. My brother wore pink and lived.... :)
Good luck.
