Way too sooonnnnnnnnnn
Hello,
I'm 17 weeks post op from VSg surgery and I just found out that I'm 9 weeks pregnant. Huge mistake.........No hunger at all. I was hungry all the time now nothing. I will day dream about food take one bite and I'm done. I go to my first OB appt on July 16 and I'm not sure what er're going to do. I have diabetes and very high blood pressure. My biggest concern is preemclapsia (sp) and not getting enough calories, carb's, and proteins in.
Your Truly,
So confused.............

First of all ((big hugs))
I highly recommend seeing a nutritionist ASAP and working out an eating plan to make sure you and the baby will get enough calories/vitamins/etc.
You only need 100 extra calories for the first trimester, 200-300 extra for the last 2 trimesters.
This can be easily done with protein shakes, peanut butter, milk, cheese, other high calorie, nutrient dense foods.
Your OB will watch you closely since you have diabetes and HBP, both of which can be managed and watched during pregnancy.
You're not the first woman to get pregnant so soon after surgery. It won't be easy but hopefully everything will work out for the best.
Goodluck!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I got pregnant at about 11 weeks post op. (By accident of course!) I had RNY. I went and saw my surgeon, Nut, and PCP right away. I was put on a strict vitamin regimen and I had to increase my protein to 80g/day. I did really well and had NO complications. I think you will do much better than I did because you don't have the malabsorption that I do. Just make sure to eat all day long so you get enough calories for you and babe. You will hear this a lot but baby will take what it needs from you and you will suffer so be sure to take all of your vits, drink plenty of water, and eat eat eat!
