5 Weeks Pregnant

We just found out I'm pregnant about a week ago! We've been trying since 2005 (with a year off for surgery). I had my RNY just under 2 years ago! I can hardly believe I'm pregnant! (Even though MULTIPLE home tests and 2 blood test say I am! LOL!)

Just curious, why would anyone choose to have a c-section because they have had a gastric bypass?

I've been on this board for a couple of years and it looks like "normal births" just like the population of woman who have not had WLS.

Congrats and best wishes on a happy and healthy pregnancy. Is there a particular reason, health wise, other than the RNY, why you would NEED a c-section. The RNY alone does not predispose you to need a c-section...2 different body systems....digestive and reproductive so no correlation.

As far as the C-Section, I know there are doctor's out there who will let you opt for one, but it wouldn't be because of RNY. You wouldn't need one just for that reason.

Congrats!  Being pregnant after trying so long is a blessing; I know because I tried for more than 10 years.
