Sour taste in mouth?

Has anyone else had this since getting pregnant?  I have this horrible sour taste in my mouth that seems to persist even if I brush my teeth constantly and use mouthwash.

My diet has been well-rounded... I'm getting enough protein, so I don't think it could be ketosis.  It's totally grossing me out and making me nauseous, though, and making it so that I don't want to eat.  In fact, I might not be eating enough when I DO eat.

Ideas?  Suggestions?  Thanks!

I had this with my twins, but thankfully not so much this time around. My OB said it's called Dysgeusia (sp?) and caused by estrogen surges during pregnancy. (you can basically blame everything on hormones when you're pregnant.) lol
I found drinking lots of water with fresh squeezed lemon juice really helped a lot with the sour taste. It did eventually get better for me around 14-16 weeks, hopefully the same will be true for you, too.

Gotta love all these hormones, eh?  I did a little research online and it said (like you suggested) that drinking acidic drinks like OJ and lemonade will help, and that eating acidic foods like pickles and vinegar will help, too.  Well, maybe that explains my pickle craving. ;)

It is definitely pregnancy related. I had the same thing with my daughter. The day she was born, it went away. I chewed a lot of gum, and it seemed worse after I ate. There is a medical term for it, but don't know what it is.

Totally had that through my first trimester. Luckily it went away a little while into the 2nd. I chewed A LOT of gum during that time and I don't really like gum cuz it hurts my jaw. OJ seemed to help a little too...and I think that's why I craved spicy mustard a lot...that helped.
