Hubby for sale!!!
Lets do a 2 for 1 sale!!! My husband acted the same way during the pregnancy. Needless to say I was sore and tender from day start and then I had 1 mo. restriction in my second month; then after month 5 it was no go again, and then you know the proverbial 6 weeks after the delivery. Well he was fit to be tied. All I can say is he feels like we have to make up for lost time. However, with breastfeeding/ pumping, I just don't feel like more attention there so often...They just don't get it. As for your worries, I can promise you that the day my water broke I was still holding my breath during each fetal assessment which they did at least twice a day while I was hospitalized before Jakob came. It isn't easy for those of us with the history. Men have a much easier time letting go of past emotions. We h ave to be patient with them they know not what they speak...
336lbs 6/19/06 - 198 lbs - 6/19/10 138 lbs gone forever!!!
We have our miracle: Jakob Makhi born 4-15-10; 4 lbs. 10 oz. 22" long.
I was addicted to sex during my pregnancy. TMI i know!! I couldn't get it enough. But now it's the opposite. I tore during birth and now it hurts to have sex. I think I was sewed up a little tight! hehe!! So poor hubby is going through withdraw. Now i am trying to suck it up and do it!! So I have no advice. Pregnancy does all kinds of wacky things to your body!!

Kathy,
I'm sure your little one is fine. But sounds like you are a worrier like me. Why not rent a fetal heart doppler so you can listen to the heart beat at any time? That's what I did and I've been listening since 10 weeks. It really provides a lot of peace of mind if I'm having a day when I think I may have pulled something or if I think there's not enough movement. I rent one for $20/month from babysheart.com but I know there are lots of other places too.
As far as husbands....I'd give mine away, maybe even pay someone to take him!! He's a contractor and very strong. He doesn't have a clue what gentle is. He says all I do is say "ouch" every time he touches me anywhere. He gets sex at least three times a week, it's not like he's deprived, but he still complains. It's pretty painful for me too. He just doesn't understand. Men need to get to feel what we feel for awhile so they can understand.
My husband isn't senstive to my concerns either. The first time I felt the baby move when he was around, he was in the recliner and I was on the couch. I said "come here, come feel this". He said "honey, I'm tired and relaxed here." I was pretty ticked off about that. AND he's not helping me get the baby room ready. He acts like we have all the time in the world. I want to paint the room and need to redo a dresser. All he wants to do after he gets off work is work on is new shed. He just keeps saying "I really need to get this done". Umm, hello, it can wait!! This little boy isn't going to!! GRRR-MEN!!!
So, Kathy, you're not alone. At least you have a place to vent where people understand. Just try not to worry so much. Not good for your little baby. (by the way--kudos to you for having the patience to not find out the sex!)
