update and ultrasound news

I have never posted much on the board since I announced I was pregnant, but I read it daily. We had our first ultrasound last week and it' a boy. Everything looked healthy and on schedule. I just knew I was having a girl, so this was a shock to me...btu I am ready to be part of team blue. We are naming him Jackson adn still trying to figure out the middle name.

Weight wise I am a little depressed this week. I have put on almost 20 pounds and I am only 19 weeks pregnant. The first 16 weeks if my stomach would get empty I would start dry heaving, so I have learned to keep something in my stomach often. This is the complete opposite of what I have practiced the past two years post RNY. My goal from this point until the end of the pregnancy is to focus on whole healthy foods and to be healthy for me and little Jackson.

Leslie,
I am so happy for you and Zach and little Jackson!  I know you will be a terrific Mommy and Zach a great Daddy.  Don't stress yourself too much on the weight gain, you can only do what you can do and pregnancies do seem to want something on the tummy!

Send me a message sometime and lets catch up!  Maybe we could get together sometime soon.

Hugs,
Rona

I have put on about that much but I am 26 weeks. Now, I have to eat every 2 hours or so. I think my blood sugar is low all the time.

Congrats on a boy. I have a feeling that's what I am having but I don't want to know until the baby is born.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Kathy-you are a patient lady being able to wait to see what you are having. Good for you!!! Thanks for replying. Weight is so weird with me so far. I'll go 4 weeks and gain zero pounds and then the next month I'll gain 8 pounds. It's averaging a pound a week, but I know that's high for the first two trimesters.

I will jump and then maintain for a weekish. My problem is I am retaining water like a sea cow.

What to Expect When Expecting said that you should start gaining a pound a week once you hit the second. Then the third you should gain two a week. Yeah, I am an over achiever.

Welcome to team blue! I am happy for you. Just wanted to encourage you that the weight gain should not overwhelm you. I know its easier said than done esp. with persons with our past, yet your plan to eat healthier foods is the best way to deal with this. If you continue to gain mention it to your doctor and see what they suggest. Don't stress over it though, its not good for Jackson to have his mom all stressed out! Take care!
