She's STILL a big girl!
Hi All,
As many of you know, my little Lorelai has been running on the big side for quite some time. Just thought I'd give you an update. We had a sono yesterday and she's still measuring big (6 lbs 12 oz when normal is 5-6 pounds). I talked to the high risk doc about induction (not that I want that) and C-section. He said that they don't induce for size because it usually makes it WAY more painful (good to know) and they don't insist on a c-section until the baby weighs 11 pounds. I don't think she'll make it to 11 lbs. If she gains 1/2 pound a week to the end she'll be just under 9 lbs so I'm not too worried. What I am more worried about is that her head already measures 39 weeks. EEEEEEK...OUCH! But my hubby's family has a history of giant noggins so I shouldn't be too shocked
I have to say how precious she was in her u/s yesterday though. Sucking her thumb and trying to stick her whole fist in her mouth. She kept sticking her tongue out at us. She is so beautiful and I just can't wait to meet her. I would stick up a pic, but as most of you know this far out the pics are not great so you can't see much anyway.
Only a month to go til my due date! YAY!!!

Mommy to 2 of the most beauiful little girls in the whole universe and still in love with my hubby of 8 years. LIFE IS GOOD!
How cute!!! And if it makes you feel better the U/S can be wrong. I have a friend that was measureing small and did an U/S on here and they said it was going to be a small baby and they were worried about him. Turns out he was over 8 pounds when he was born and her biggest kid.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.
Baby 7-09
Xavier Elliott born 10-5-10
Yes, the days of inducing due to size are a thing of the past. Now, they won't normally induce until 39 weeks anyway unless there is a medical necessary. That is the recommendation from ACOG (American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) that most hospitals are now doing.
I can't believe you are so close! Wow, how exciting. I think I am going to be in your shoes. My little boy has been measuring ahead for weeks. His legs and head have been four weeks ahead at each ultrasound. They predict if he goes to 40 weeks he will be 9lbs 9oz. I keep imaging pushing out this huge noggin!
I am glad she is happy and healthy in there baking along until she gets to meet you and her daddy!
