Sarcoma scare
I forgot to mention this in my last message, but I thought it might've needed it's own topic.
I had that issue last month where after I got out of the hospital for my blood transfusions, I had an issue with this mass in my rear/hip area. I could barely walk for about 10 days because it was pressing on something.....had to be.....was very painful.
Anyway, when I went to my maternal fetal Dr. a couple weeks ago, I was telling her about it while she did my ultrasound and she was pretty concerned about it and said she wanted to take a look at it when we got done looking at the baby.
So, we finished and she started examining the lump. She felt on it and she said, "That thing is NOT superficial is it?" I was like no. And we both said at the same time, "It's really deep". Cuz if the thing was superficial you'd think of something like maybe a boil or possibly a lipoma (a tumor of fatty tissue). Whatever this thing is is fixed deep in there and doesn't move.
She was very concerned and told me that I needed to see someone to get it looked at, biopsied, and whatever because it could possibly be a type of sarcoma (malignant tumor). We both kind of agreed that it's going to have to be something that I won't be able to get checked out until after I have Kenzie just because they'll have to do a CT or MRI and who knows what they'll have to do for a biopsy. I'm sure just numb it up or something. I can't see em putting you out for that, but who knows? They might.
So, I'm thinking about seeing someone before she's due to come. That way when I'm actually numb from the chest down in my c-section we can have someone come in and do the biopsy then. Take out two birds with one stone.
I'm pretty scared. I've known this mass has been there for quite some time and I'm no medical dummy by any means. I'm pretty schooled and knew that this mass wasn't normal, wasn't a boil or lipoma and could be something more but I've been in denial. Then I got pregnant (which I first noticed it about last March 2009 and found out I was pregnant Dec. 7th) and then used that as my excuse not to get it checked because I was afraid of what would be found. Stupidity on my part, but I'm getting it checked now.
Just please hope and pray with me that it's something manageable. I'm afraid to know, but if I don't know, I can't take care of it and we're about to have 5 children here in 6 weeks and they need their Mommy. Thanks!

I understand where you are coming from. I'm having my fifth child here any day and can't afford to get a cold let alone have something serious crop up. :( Too many people need us around..
I've read your posts about this lump before and my impressions are that there are a million NON cancerous things it could be so I'm praying for you that it's one of those. I would definitely get a consult right away so that if there is any way they can do the biopsy during c-section, you are at least given that option. They might even be able to ultrasound it or do something safe during pregnancy, just to relieve your mind on what it might be. They might do a needle biopsy to see if it is fluid filled, which requires no anesthesia at all (I've had it done) to make sure it's not a pocket of infection that needs to be treated more aggressively.
It's easy for me to say to try not to stress...but honestly if you are like me you will anyways lol. Get a consult and some answers and that will make you feel much better! I'm sure you will be fine.
Good luck

I would really suggest having someone look at this sooner rather than later. There are plenty of benign things it can be, but it is important to get it checked out. They may be able to do an ultrasound which would at least give some idea of the composition of it and a needle biopsy is also possible. Things like this are generally not removed surgically without a biopsy first and they are not likely to schedule some other procedure to take place at the same time as your c-section, especially if there is any chance of malignancy. Let us know what you find out. Also, my job is actually to assist cancer patients with finding clinical trials, so fee free to PM me if you have any questions.
