update on IUGR
Well I met the high risk Dr at the perinatal center that i was referred to after being told we are dealing with IUGR.
First, he was awesome! Wish i would have had him the whole pregnancy...he sat down with me and unlike any other Dr i have seen prior, he gave me no indication that he was in any rush.
He answered all of my questions before I could even ask them, including whether or not I would have to be induced and when. The answer was yes and it will happen at 37 weeks.
We didn't schedule the exact date yet (he said we'll do that at next weeks appt) but he wrote it in my chart and everything.
Baby is falling below the 5th percentile (anything under 10 is considered IUGR) and until induction i will have 2x weekly NST's and 2x weekly Doppler's, weekly ultrasounds and weekly OB visits. Sounds like a lot BUT I'll be 37 weeks in 2 weeks so I'm sure it will fly by!
Now, I know that having to be induced is whats best for my baby, shes obviously not getting what she needs inside of me (i feel incredibly guilty about this) and I'm hopeful she will thrive on the outside, but i have to admit i am terrified of being induced...I'm terrified of the pain, not progressing and of possibly needing to have a c-section if i don't progress!!
I'm on bed rest and suddenly realizing that there is still SO MUCH left to do around here to prepare for baby and its driving me nuts! lol
On a pretty good note, i discovered yesterday that my insurance will cover the costs of a breast pump 100% as long as my Dr writes a request for one on my behalf. I'll be asking him when i see him on Tuesday...I'm hoping he wont have any problem with that! I'm pretty set on breast feeding/pumping and now that i will be dealing with a low birth weight baby who may have trouble suckling right away, I think he should have no problem writing a script for a pump!
It would be a huge help, they can get so expensive and we're already cutting major corners since i have yet to see a disability check and my husbands hours were cut recently!
Any of you have experience with getting your pump paid for by your insurance?
k, well that was my novel for the day!!
ahh I'm having a baby in TWO WEEKS!! lol OK...done!

Did they say how big they think she is?? Bailey was 5 lbs 9 oz when I was induced at 38 weeks 5 days. I am telling you girl - the kid is a moose now! She never stopped growing from the minute she came out!
I have and ultrasound on Tuesday to follow up on size, I am hoping that he has flipped by then.
Hang in there Momma - 2 weeks! :)

last friday @ 34 weeks they were estimating her at 4 lbs 4 oz and her limbs were measuring between 31 & 32 weeks. Her weight put her in the 5th percentile =/ im praying she'll be at LEAST 5 lbs by 37 weeks but who knows. We have another ultrasound next thursday, that should give us a better idea on what her birth weight will be! Grow baby Grow!! lol
I remember my neice was 5lbs 13 oz at birth and was swimming in her newborn clothes so we picked up a couple of preemie things to get us through at least a week...omg they look like itty bitty dolls clothes!
and for u...Flip baby Flip!

Hi Missus ...
I am so glad that you felt better after seeing this OB .. he sounds like just what you need!
I just wanted to put in my two cents about induction .. I was induced at 42 weeks, and I won' tlie ... it took 36 hours all together, and I finally got an epidural at 29 hours. While it was challenging, I wouldn't change it at all, and I dont really even remember the pain now - it's been 11 months. I will keep you in my prayers that it goes well .. hang in there mama!

Just relax. I had this issue with all my children before surgery and the smallest baby I had was 8.1 lbs and there wasn't anything wrong with any of them except for my 2 year old whom was 11 lbs at 36 weeks! So just remember all may be fine and Good luck. BTW....the one child they said that wasn't growning well enough came out being a healthy 10.9lbs baby full term and yes they induced me because my water had broken but I wasn't having any contractions. Side note, the epidural slowed down my dialation after the pitocins so you may want to wait until after you are 4 or 5 centimeters before getting an epidural!
Congrats Mommy!!
