BP Still High
Well, I went today for my BP check since going on BP meds on Monday. Well, it was still high so they are now doubling my meds and I have to go back tomorrow for another BP check. I really don't like the BP meds at all. They make me feel lathargic and sleepy. That was with 100mg twice a day. Now, I have to take 200mg twice a day and I am worried about how I will feel.
Oh well!

Hi, Unfortunately I have been on BP medicines for over 15 years and one of the biggest problems is fatigue. I actually had to get a doctors note saying my job had to let me start when I get here because no matter what I did I could not awaken to make it on time to work. I have been lowered enough since gastric bypass that it isn't as bad but I still have a tough time of waking up.
336lbs 6/19/06 - 198 lbs - 6/19/10 138 lbs gone forever!!!
We have our miracle: Jakob Makhi born 4-15-10; 4 lbs. 10 oz. 22" long.
Please be vigilant with your BP.
I had high BP ~29 weeks with my twins that eventually turned into pre-e and required me to be hospitalized for a week. My twins were delivered at 30 weeks due to the pre-e and spent 6 weeks in the NICU. Thankfully they had zero complications and no developmental delays, but they were very lucky for early preemies.
High BP can quickly turn into something serious and the fact yours isn't responding to meds could be a sign there is something else going on. ((hugs))

Well, this is the first time in my life for high BP. The doctor is being deligent. They said I am not showing any signs of pre-clampsia so it is a good thing. She said that being almost 31 weeks pregnant and in the high Texas heat and humid is just what is causing it. I already eat a low sodium diet and drink fluids. They made me come in Moday of this week, today and I go back in tomorrow.

High BP is one thing, but have they run any labs on you? If your BP is high enough to warrant medication they should be running baseline labs. Pre-Eclampsia sneaks up on you fast and for some without warning. When I went on meds at 28 weeks they did a 24 hour urine to see if I was spilling any protein, the dip stick in the office showed a trace to none, but they ran the 24 hour anyway and it came back that I was spilling some. I was on Lebatelol and it made me feel like absolute crap. I ended up delivering at 35 weeks, but developed severe Pre-E and that turned into Class 1 HELLP syndrome. It was very scary... but my dr. was on top of things and that's why I'm here today. My HELLP syndrome developed within a few hours while I was in the hospital, thankfully I was there and in the right place at the right time.
Yes, they have done labs and they checked and I am showing no signs of protein in my urine. I will be in for my third time this week when I go in tomorrow. I am Lebatelol and it makes me feel like CRAP!!!! Monday, they put me on 100mg twice a day. Now I am on 200mg twice a day and go back for a recheck tomorrow morning.
