My doctor wants to do another u/s at 28 weeks because he said my placenta is too close to  my cervix. Apparently that could change, for better or for worse. But if it gets worse, I'll have to have a c-section.

anyone heard of this and is there anything I can to do make it better?

Thanks,
Kina

I don't know anything about this. I just wanted to tell you that I will be thinking and praying that it gets better :)

Nothing you can do. Its the way it implanted after conception, it implanted low is all. If it covers your cervix you would need a csection. If it moves up then your in the clear. One thing is though if it gets close to the cervix and you have sex you could have bleeding and in turn be on pelvic rest ie no sex. Most the time it moves and all is okay. Just think you get to see your baby boy again!

Nothing you can do, unfortunately.  It might be a good time to start reading up a bit on c-section birth just in case it doesn't move, so you can plan for a good recovery and experience.  But they often do move up to a better place and I hope yours does.

yeah - that happened to me with my 1st pregnancy.  I had a complete placenta previa - which means my placenta was completely covering my cervix, making a vagnial delivery basically impossible without some serious harm. Mine moved with my uterine wall was my pregnancy progressed and was completely out of the way by the time I was 34 weeks.

So there really isn't anything you can do other then hope it moves. This has happened to 3 other friends and we all have had sucessfull vaginal deliveries.
