Glucose testing?

My last pregnancy I had to do the glucose test and it made me absolutely sick.  I am about a month away from having to do it again.  Are there any alternatives to this??  My doctor seems to think I will be fine without the testing but is trying to find an alternative.  I don't want to get sick like I did last time.  It was HORRIBLE!!

Anyone have any experience with this?

SOME ob/gyn's will let you use jellybeans instead of that ultra-nasty "soda". I've yet to convince my ob/gyn to let me try the testing that way, but I've had girlfriends that have been allowed to use the jellybeans.

My OB is great!  He was thinking we didn't need to do it all if it was going to make me sick but was willing to try other ideas from my doctors office if they had any.  My doctor and his nurse are both out of the country until next week so I didn't get any answers today.  I still have some time before I have to take the test but am hopeful that I either won't have to take it at all or maybe try an alternative method to the testing.

I tested (as did many others on here) by having a fasting draw done, eat breakfast, and then have a draw again 2 hours later. MY ob followed that with random testing for a couple weeks just to make sure that my sugars were running normal.

My OB is having me test my blood sugar daily for a week instead of the doing glucose test.  I'll do a fasting test every morning and then test again 2 hrs after eating a meal throughout the day.  I dump on sugar so I told them I wasn't going to do the glucose test and she was fine with that (my OB had the RNY as well, so she "gets" it).

I had the option of doing the jelly beans and I still feel uncomfy with that. As of right now, I am going in for a fasting blood draw and then an A1C.
