Question re IVF for us members of the AMA Club?

I'll let DH talk to the drs in Egypt, and maybe while he's gone, I'll see if there's another dr - one who's willing/able to answer my questions, not tell me to just go read abotu it - here in Bulgaria, then when DH comes home, we'll sit down and decide whether to do it and if so, where to do it.  I honestly don't mind traveling to Egypt for it - it's only about $400 r/t to get there...but if it doesn't take the first time, that means multiple trips...then still getting one of the drs here to take over after the fact, assuming we're successful. 

It's good that you have so much family support around you for when you're ready to have a baby.  Hopefully you will meet someone and have no trouble doing it the old fashioned way...but the fact you have your nieces who'd 'help out' is something not many women have.

I am not on OH much anymore and really don't have any advice about IVF but wanted to wish you good luck with whatever you decide. I am 43 and still trying myself but we were only able to afford the 6 IUI's with out success and did not have the money for IVF. That is a great price so I say go for it. I hope you get your wish.

Thanks Tami.  I'm only a year behind you - if I remember right, your birthdays only a day or two before mine, so almost exactly a year behind you.  I understand how difficult it all has been...and I still pray that it'll work for you.  I am on here a lot less than I used to be...but still pop in quickly ever few days.  I did finally sign up for FB...but being the duffus that I am...I sucessfully locked myself out of it...so I sent them an email today and hope they'll unlock it.  We'll see.  If you're on FB...look for me...my name on there is 'Holly Ann.'

Have you ever thought of going to a foreign country for the IVF?  It's considerably cheaper in most other countries...heck, I saw something that even in Canada it's only $5K, and I'd think that might be doable.  Don't know how you'd schedule when to go up there...I'm still working on learning all that myself...but at least it's an option.  If you were willing to use donor eggs, that is likely to increase your chances even higher, from what they say.
