How long????

Hello~

I had my first child almost a month ago. I had gastric bypass almost 4 years ago.  I gained 33 lbs with the pregnancy. I have lost 20 lbs so far.  My question is how long after giving birth did you get back to your original weight? I had a c-section also. I have heard that if you have a c-section it takes longer to lose the weight.  But I don't know if that is true also. Some people tell me it takes 6-8 weeks to get back or 6 months. Any comments about your experience would be greatly appreciated and very helpful!!

Congrats on your baby! I too had a baby 4 weeks ago. This is my first. I gained 26 pounds and lost it and 12 more pounds in the first 2 weeks after delivery. I did loose a lot of blood and was pumped full of fluids in the hospital so I know that made some of the weight come off more quickly. Oh and I had a vaginal delivery

Just remember your tool is still there, you just have to work it!

 Alex is 9 1/2 months old.  I had a c-section also and gained about 35lbs during my pregnancy.  I almost instantly lost 20lbs, and am SLOWLY getting back down.. but its about 1-2lbs a month.  I'm sitting about 5-8lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight depending on the day.

Just remember, it took you 40 weeks to gain the weight.. expect it to take that long to get it off.

I lost weight during my first/sec trimester then gained some back the third then lost 30lbs pretty quick plus more but I was nursing I think it comes off quicker when you nurse! It will come off just takes some time and going back to basics! Good luck
