question about when you lost your mucus plug

I am 2 weeks away from having this baby via C section.  This morning I lost some of my mucus plug.  I wanted to know if you all remember when you went into labor after losing your plug?

Now I only lost a bit of it, not sure how much we all really have, but hoping this is a sign that I might go within this week?

So if you remember losing yours, how long until you went into labor afterwards?

Thanks,
Bambi

For me, it was 5 days. However, I know several people that lost it weeks before they went into labor....Hopefully you'll be holding your little guy soon!

I was thinking if I remember correctly that I lost mine with my son weeks before my due date and he didn't come early.  Not even sure if I lost it with my daughter...I don't remember seeing anything with her.

I was kinda hoping for this to be an early sign.  I am so ready to meet my little guy!

Thanks!

I lost the entire thing all at once, at about 7 am that morning, and had Emad at 1240am...so roughly 18 hrs later....I was 3 weeks early and went into labor and progressed naturally with no need for meds to encourage labor....Good Luck!

Hey Samara!

wow, you went fast.  I am 37 weeks today and am so excited to meet this guy!   I will have to have a c section either way but it would be nice to have him sooner than later.  If not, 2 weeks isn't all that bad...

take care!

I've lost mine at different times with each of mine, and I dilate and efface early; from 34 weeks on; without labor ever starting until after my water breaks.

I've lost my plug in one huge chunk and I've lost it in little bits over time, and other times I've lost it and never even noticed.

You can lose your plug a few times over even, as the plug can regenerate itself too.

Losing your plug is not an indication that labor will start any time soon, unless your body is ready and that's what it is going to do.

I started loosing pieces of it about 3 weeks before and lost the whole big glob about 4 days before I went into labor. I also went into labor on my own, no induction.

Good luck!

This is such an unreliable predictor of labor that the NP at my OB's office told us during birthing class NOT to call the office when they lose it, because they don't want to see it and they don't need to see us.
I lost mine when my water broke.

Hi Bambi.
With my first son 12 years ago, i lost my mucus plug and then went into labor right after within a few hours.

Congrats on your baby. I am due on the 7th of July.

I lost the old "slug plug" five days before I went in labor - but it was induced labor!  I have a feeling I would have lasted a few more days had my BP not spiked.  I was bummed when I lost the plug and then didn't go into labor naturally soon.
