OT: Revision Scheduled!!
Hello everyone! I just thought i'd give a little update- I got a Revision date!! 8/9/10 (should be easy for me to remember).
As a lot of you know I found out 1+ years ago that my Gastric Bypass was done incorrectly and was schedule for a revision when I got Pregnant with Avery. Well I have had a couple of appointments and we schedule the surgery again for August.
I'm soooo excited and getting nervous!! I think it's because I know whats coming? When I had Gastric Bypass 5 years ago I didn't know what to expect, but now I do and it's no picnic. I'm also more nervous now because 1. a revision is harder to perform that a regular RNY. 2. I have two kids now. I'm going to be terrified about this...... I'm not sure how to calm that fear or if I even can.
I need to lose some lbs before the surgery and I think the only way I can do this is putting myself on a liquid diet for a couple of weeks. Anyone have any suggestions on some good Protein shakes?? When I had my RNY I used Whey Protein shakes from GNC... looking for something cheaper perhaps? I really have no idea what to expect weightloss wise... he said people lose like 10-50lbs.... I was hoping for more like 100lbs LOL... As it stand right now I have NO stomach.. everything I eat goes right to my intestines..... I had to drink 6 cups of that yucky white milky nasty tasting stuff just so they could get two pictures of it- it was moving so fast they couldn't capture it on the Upper GI.
If anyone has any revision stories please share them.....the OH Revision board is kind of worthless to me... everyone is on there looking to Convert to DS (which I would love to- but it's not covered by insurance).
I will be updating next week with Avery's 4 month stats after we go to the doctor!!
Here are my Babies!!

I had a revision in Jan 2009 because I could not stop losing weight. My original surgery was 10-2004...held steady at about 112 pounds for a few years...then wham couldn't stop losing...sooooooooooooo they put some of my intestines back into play, as they said that too much was bypasses for a person of my size (not quite 100 pounds to lose)....I got clear down to 82 pounds...ended up with a PICC line and TPN for 5 months, but am now holding steady between 106 and 112 I know...big gap...but that is about how it fluctuates...my revision was easier than the first surgery...so I hope yours will be too! Good Luck!
