Glucose Tolerance Test ????
My OB has agreed to let me do a PC GTT, however he has me coming back in at the 1 hour mark for the re-check. Is that going to be an accurate result? And what would you suggest eating??? My nutritionist wants me to wig out on carbs which I feel witll give an unfair result. She suggested a banana and 1/2 bagel with nothing else which is ALL carbs and will probably make me feel as bad as the glucola would.

I was told to eat whatever you normally do for breakfast. I usually have oatmeal but I was on the road the day of the test so cold oatmeal wouldn't have been fun. I had a yogurt and some cheese and crackers. My number actually went down at the 2nd draw lol. I told them I had to eat every 2 hours!
Oh and my Dr had me back at the office in 1 1/2 hours but I just sat there until we got to the 2 hour mark, they just wanted to make sure I was back in time
Good luck!

I'm diabetic and my OB had me checking my blood sugar at one hour when I was pregnant. The standards are much different for pregnant women than "regular" diabetics. She wanted my sugar under 130 and one hour. Usually if you're diabetic, you're shooting for less than 140 after TWO hours. It was very tough but hopefully you won't have any issues and won't have to worry about it.

I have been diagnosed with gestational and he wants mine under 120 for 2 hours and my fasting to be 90-95. The fasting has been the horrible part. I had to be admitted to the hospital this week so they could put me on insulin and get it regulated so that maybe my fasting would get to where they want it. Today was the first day I had ever reached his goal.
