28 Weeks Today - Exhausted and always short of breath

Hey everyone

I have noticed that in the last week I am always exhausted and short of breath.  I know Anushka is growing, but (as far as health wise) I feel like I have gone from high maintenance to utterly ridiculous.  I have severe asthma on top of everything so I know that is contributing to the short of breath.

I wake up several times a night feeling like I am suffocating.  It's scary......I know my uterus is expanding and my diaphragm is getting smaller so I am not getting a lot of oxygen.  I know why things are happening, it's just frustrating.

I had to have help before......due to my complications from RNY and my asthma, but I was able to function somewhat normally.  I'm just afraid that I am going to have to impose on people to even do laundry in the next 12 weeks.

Anyway......thanks for listening.....you guys are always GREAT!

Hope that you are feeling better. that tight chest feeling was awful. The good news is that when the baby drops it goes away! Bad news is that isn't going to happen for a while yet.

As far as the shortness of breat goes, I can't imagine having asthma on top of how short of breath I already am, so I really feel for you.

As far as the exhaustion goes...have you had your bloodwork done recently. I was about 28 weeks when they discovered I was super low on iron (my ferratin level should have been 11 and it was 3). I was so tired, I felt like I was in the 1st trimester again. I had 2 iron infusions and now I feel sooooooo much better. Just a thought that you might want to get your vitamin levels checked.

I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks, guys!!  I go to the OB today for my glucose tolerance test, so I will mention the bloodwork to him.

Thanks again!!  (It's always good to know I'm not alone!!)

Hugs!

i was very SOB and i was very anemic which was causing me to be even more SOB than a "normal" pregnant woman. when were your last labs? what vitamins are you on? as for exhaustion that could be your levels to. Do you know if you are anemic?

Sorry you feel so bad...there might be a reason besides the pregnancy.
