I am pregnant I am 5 almost 6 months out from having my RNY. I would like advice from anyone who got pregnant earlier than excepted. I am nervous about everything, I just really want to have a healthy baby. Please any advice on how you managed during your pregnancy.

I didn't, but I can offer some suggestions. You'll need to add healthy carbs back into your diet immediately. You should be getting about 1500-1800 calories, 100 grams of carbs and 90 grams of protein. OK I know your head is spinning now, yes, you will basically be eating constantly. Oh and what vitamins are you taking? If you haven't switch to a pre-natal, add in folic acid and calcium.

Good Luck and CONGRATS!!

PS - I would call your OB, surgeon and NUT ASAP

I got pregnant 7 months out from RNY. You do have to eat carbs now b/c only protein will cause you to leak keytones which are bad for baby. Switch to prenatals and take atleast 2 a day. Your ob will have to run frequent labs to check your levels. Mine did them ever month, and if I was feeling off. DRINK DRINK DRINK! This was the biggest problem for me. I ended up in the hospital multiple times dehydrated b/c it's hard to drink enough.

My rules are: 100g carbs, ~100g protein, & 100 oz water.

Good luck, your baby will be fine. :)
