clomid/opk questions

Okay, so I am to start clomid on day 5 of my cycle.  My MD said "If you're spotting, don't count that as a day"  That's the only instruction I got.  So, Friday I had spotting - not bright red, just pinkish fluid.  Yesterday, a tad of red, but mostly pinkish fluid - but this was light flow, not just spotting.  Today is the bright red medium flow day.  QUESTION 1:  Do I count today as day 1 or yesterday as day 1?  QUESTION 2:  What day do I need to start using the OPK's?  The MD told me to take clomid days 5-9; intercourse days 10, 12, 14, and 16.  So do I start doing OPKs on day 9 ish?  I don't know and need advice from you pros!  Thanks in advance ladies!!!

I'm not a pro by any means, but I get so irritated by these stupid freakin Dr's that tell you to have intercourse on days 10-16. If you have a regular 28 day cycle then that would be correct, otherwise no. Maybe I shouldn't even be posting this. But I have PCOS so my cycles are all jacked up, I never know when I'm going to be Ovulating. So if I BD those days it wouldn't be any good, and I'd miss my chances. If you don't have a regular cycle I would just start using OPK's from like  cd10 on. Also I have been using OPK's for over a year now, and now I am to the point where if I see EWCM or my nipples get really really sore, or I feel that little twinge/crampiness down there then I take an OPK and I'm always right on. I did stop temping, so I have nothing to back it up.

So as far as I know CD1 would be the first day of heavy flow, and I think if you're one of the people that have light flows, then I'm pretty sure it'd be the first day that you'd have to wear a tampon or pad.

That's just my advice, but I'm sure there are alot more ladies here that know more than me, so they can give even better advice! lol  Good luck sweetie!

The first day you had that light flow would be your CD 1 (I think two days ago now).  As for when to have sex, Julia is right.  It depends on the person and when they are going to ovulate.  I would have sex every other day until you get your positive OPK (do one a day starting CD 10).  Once you get your positive, have sex for 3 days straight.  That will cover the sex.  If you husband has sperm issues, though, keep it to every other day so they can replenish.

Good luck!
