Help! I dropped..question

Ok, I need some reassurance or a swift kick of reality.  I dropped yesterday...and by dropped I mean very obviously my stomach is drastically lower than the day before and I feel her now down in my pelvis.  I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and cervix is still closed (they checked yesterday), but at risk for pre-term labor due to numerous factors and I have always had a ton of contractions.

Now I've had triplets and another baby so this is my fifth baby (I know I'm crazy), but I've never experienced dropping, so I'm totally clueless as to what this actually means.  My c-section isn't for 5 weeks and I have MAJOR construction going on at my house.  I'm literally sleeping in the living room right now and my 4 kids are in one bedroom while the contractors are finishing 4 other bedrooms including the nursery and  a new bathroom and playroom.  I need at least a few more weeks or I am screwed lol.  I have all the baby stuff but it's in the basement in storage right now.   The schedule wasn't supposed to push this far, but contractors are way slower than they say they will be.

Can you tell I'm beyond stressed?   I feel like I'm losing my mind lately from stress and now I've dropped.

Is there any way I can still go at least another 5 weeks having dropped like this?  The contractors even said this morning "Oh wow you dropped".  I was ready to scream lol.  I know you guys will be honest though.

Thank guys...I read everyday but haven't had time to write much.  As we speak they are digging up my main sewer line in the road (I have no plumbing), putting the roof on the addition, insulating one of the bedrooms, and putting radiant heat throughout the house.

Weeeee

I "dropped" at 34-35 weeks with both mine, and they were not born till 39 weeks. It was just more miserable because the baby felt like it was going to "Fall" out! I had it real bad with my last one because he was sooooo big! If you are too worried, call your doctor, they will most likely tell you it is ok, or have you go in to be monitored!

Good Luck!

I am so glad to hear this!!  It gives me hope :)  She feels like she is going to fall out too..buy I'm ok with that as long as she stays inside a while!

I have no experience with "dropping", but if the contractors say you have dropped, then maybe that will light a fire under their butts and get your house finished!!  LOL  In fact, this late in the game, I'd lie to them just to make them hurry up.  :)

Good luck with everything!!

Well I had a pre-term labor scare last week (that cervix swab came back positive) so that already lit a fire under their butts, but at this point it can only go so fast.  It's still going to take a few weeks unfortunately.  I'm praying this little one gives me at least that!

Dropping can happen that early after many pregnancys/babies....also as goes for preterm labor even though you are scheduled in 5 weeks your first goal is 35 weeks then if you get to 37 thats icing on  the cake and you are full term!

Did you say your  fetal fibronectin test came back postive?

Yes but I was still closed and baby looks good so they said all they can do is watch me.  I dropped two days after the test came back positive.

well it just means that you are at greater risk the next couple weeks to go into labor. I would just rest as much as possible, drink lots of water and do not have sex or ******s. also watch very close for signs of labor that way they can stop it or they can give you steriods for the babies lungs depending on how far along you are... praying you make it till 37weeks!

My OB said that if I go into labor she wouldn't give me anything or do anything to stop it....not sure why.  I still consider 34 weeks pretty premature!

Thanks for the well wishes! :)
