34 week appointment

Hey gals -

I had my 34 week appointment, NST, & ultrasound today. I have gained about 32 lbs (YIKES), but what really has me worried is that the ultrasound tech said that Carter is breech :(

Has anyone had experience with this? Is it too late for him to turn?? I really don't want a C-section....

If you believe in acupressure, there are some good medical studies based on pressure points that can turn a breech baby. Try goggling it and you'll find some explained. I didn't use them for breech, but I did use some to help induce labor, and within 24 hours I had given birth, so there you go. I was already dialted, this is true, so my body was ready, but it was a nice way to get things moving. You could always give it a shot! At the very least, it's like giving yourself a massage, so what do you have to lose?

No, it's not to late.  My 1st baby turned the day I was scheduled for c-section.  C-section was cancelled and I went home to wait for labor to start.

Can't believe you are 34 weeks!  Congrats. :)

Tristan was breech and a friend told me this trick to turn him. worked for us.

Get down on your hands and knees and rock back and forth. Also lowering and raising your spine helps. Something about it gives him more space to turn when you're in this position and something about the rocking encourages him to move.

Good luck, and no, it's not too late yet.

My little guy flipped around 36 weeks.

Dawn,

Don't fret. Londyn was breech around that time too.  She flipped.  It didn't matter for me really, I had a scheduled csection.

Try not to worry about the gain too much.  I know it isn't easy, but it will come off.

Hugs

spinningbabies.com is a good place to start, and then get yourself to a chiropractor who knows the webster technique or is good with pregnant women in general. My baby was transverse a couple weeks ago and I specifically got an adjustment to get her to get into position and by the end of the day she was finally head down.

My last baby was breech and I had an adjustment at around 35 or 36 weeks and by the time I got home he turned completely head down.

Chiro adjustments really work. It's worth the $50 some odd dollars for an adjustment if it means no c/s and a quicker recovery, for me. I mean I've spent more on clothing and equiptment so why not the birth too?!
