Hi all,
Its been a long time since I've been on here, but I wanted to stop by and give you the latest news on my boys. Also, I wanted to congratulate all the new mommies and those expecting, and give well wishes to those TTC. I bet many of you don't know me from Adam, but those of you who do and are not on FB can see what's going on with us now.
Kaden is now 4. Yes, I can hardly believe my first child, concieved the first time we tried post op, is now a beautiful smarty pants 4 year old preschooler. He's starting to read, knows how to ride a two wheeler without training wheels, and is doing everything that someone his age should be doing. The bad news for him, and actually the main reason I thought to come post here, is to ask for some prayers. About a month ago, Kaden was dancing and playing with an adult friend of ours, being held in his arms. Our friend tripped over his own feet and wound up dropping Kaden to the ground, directly on his head. He cracked his skull, and had possible bleeding on the brain, and of course, staples in his head. Upon viewing the CT scan, the pediatric neurosurgeon noticed that he has enlarged ventricles in his brain, not related to the fall. So, next Tuesday, we are going for an MRI to see what's what with him. They will be looking at what was possibly a bleed or perhaps a movement shaddow from the fall, as well as this other possible issue. He has complained of headaches since he could talk, but fortunately they are always controlled with a dose of tylenol and/or rest and food. However, it has always worried me because little ones shouldn't get headaches. I am hoping that the enlarged ventricles are just "normal" for him and that the injury is healing as best as can be expected. I am putting out everything I can to the universe, to God, to... whatever... so that my little miracle boy is fine just fine. If you find a moment, I'd appreciate whatever thoughts you might spare to send out to whomever you find appropriate in regards to Kaden. Obviously, I'm a worried mom.
Bryson is now just about 18 months. I had some pretty serious PPD with him, and I am SO glad that part is over. Now, I can enjoy him a lot more. He's a fire cracker for sure. He looks a lot like Kaden did at this age, but has his own personality for sure. Kaden was an early talker, and later walker, and Bryson is doing things exactly the opposite. He's a mover and a shaker but his language is progressing slower than his overly talkative big brothers...hehe. He is so fun to watch, and having two boys is like nothing I've ever experienced. Tina and I are both only children, so having two boys is all new every day for us. They have a fairly good, and somewhat "brotherly" relationship, with Kaden being tough on Bryson much of the time. Good thing Bryson is so easy going with him. He's got a temper when he wants to, and knows how to use it, but he can also be the sweetest thing on the planet and having him cuddle in my arms and put his head on my shoulder is one of the closest things I can imagine to experiencing heaven.
Tina and I are both teachers in California. We both will have jobs next year, thankfully. However, she will teach high school (most likely), rather than elementary. I currently teach first grade, and hope to continue to do so. I don't know what I'll be assigned next year though. We are fortunate in that we have each other and our wonderful sons. I will try to upload a picture to this later when I get home. I have been working off of a mini laptop borrowed from my mom for about a month since mine bit the dust, so we'll see. If you have read this far, thank you very much! I hope this finds you all healthy and happy, with healthy children, babies, and babies to be...
