PCOS ladies and any others that may have suggestions
I was in the group of PCOSers that did not get pregnant easily post-op. I started TTC in March 2009 and was pregnant in March 2010. We did 4 months of clomid, 2 months of injectables (Menogon) and 2 rounds of IVF.
The cycle that worked was the second IVF. I had cut out sugar as much as possible about a month before that and it was amazing how much better my body reacted to the injections.
So my advice - cut the sugar out of your diet and find a doctor that is willing to move agressively.

Hi there. I have two post op PCOS babies...but it has not been an easy journey. First...move on to a reproductive endocrinologist. Next...Metformin was what regulated my cycles, that and watching my carbs. It takes a few months for metformin to work though, so hang in there. Never heard of formamet. Lower good carb/higher protein dieting is key with pcos. (but not so much after you become pg...you need good carbs for baby)
So, first baby did several rounds of clomid and IUI, but got pg on metformin alone as I was clomid resistant. Also, has hubby been checked. My husband has really low sperm counts. That is something the RE will work on and another reason to move on. Second baby... I knew my body after 5+ years of ttc so I just asked my regular doctor for metformin to regulate my cycles and hoped for the best. The IUI route was too stressful and we were blessed with our little girl, so no pressure. My son happened naturally on met.
For a sweet treat I would have a fiber one bar. Or occasionally a half of a small bagel with strawberry cream cheese and a string cheese. It is important to always have a protein with a carb.
I feel like I am rambling, but with 2 teething kids I haven't had much sleep...lol Hopefully that will be you soon! Good luck. Shari
