How did you break the news?
I too, can understand why she would say this. With my first miscarriage, no one knew but me... when I got pregnant the second time, my husband told everyone! That ended around 15 weeks and EVERYONE knew! It was horrible, and I was a mess (mentally). When we got pregnant with Tristan, I didn't want to tell anyone. My husband did. In the end, I gave in because I knew that if I lost him I would probably be so crazy, the whole world would know.
I just POAS, and we told my sister, but that's it for now... I'm waiting until after I have an ultrasound in my hand.
Congrats! (The booties are precious)

Lucky for me, Christmas was right about at the 12 week mark, so I made Christmas cards for family and friends and where one would normally insert the family photo I inserted a copy of the ultrasound picture (and wrote on the envelope that they were not to be opened until Christmas). For my parents, I also included a button for each of them that said "Grandma To Be" and "Grandpa To Be." I had them open their card and present on Christmas eve, before we met up with the rest of the family and we just waited to see who would notice their pins first.

Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.
First of all, those might be the CUTEST shoes I have ever seen!
When we found out we were pregnant with baby #2, it was close to Thanksgiving, so we went and bought my first son a tee shirt that said "I'm the Big Brother!" and put it on him under his thanksgiving outfit. Once we got to my in laws house, Josh wanted to take his sweater off, so we did, and then we waited to see how long it would take someone to see what the shirt said. My sis-in law saw it right away, but my mother in law said "who are you a big brother to?" and TOTALLY didn't get it for a minute - hilarious!
My family had a similar reaction. It took my grandmother a while for the light bulb to go off, and my aunt was hanging out for at least 20 minutes before she even caught a glimpse of it!
Have fun sharing the news!!

We waited to tell anyone until the 11th week, which was very hard for me because I am super close to my family. We had even gone to visit them one weekend and they did not find out. Well how to tell them was my husbands idea. We picked up cards for each set of parents and gave them a copy of the ultrasound inside. What the kicker was we told them it was grandparents weekend and therefore why they got the card. My sister was there when I told my parents and she started crying. My nephew (4year old) was so excited he called his daddy, my brother, and in the most country voice said "daddy, aunt Stacey is having a baby". Needless to say it was a priceless moment for me. Enjoy your announcement...Stacey
