question about clomid ***help***

I am very confused!
took clomid for 5 days-may 18th thru may 23rd 50mg
everytime I do an ovulation test it is positive- a week and a half between each test, Iknow about the surge and how it goes up and drops so I know the time between test is abnormal for ovulation to show positive at the second point of taking the test that is.
took pregos test and it is negative. I am due to start my period on the 9th.

So my question is "how does this clomid thing work?"

Do you constantly test positive for ovulation? I even had my husband pee on a stick just to see if the tests were faulty but nope his was negative.

Does clomid change your ovulation? How do I know when I am really ovulating? I know about the temp thing and will give that a shot but I would like to know more. I use to know when I was ovulating cause I had certain signs but this time it was different and it was my first time taking clomid. I looked up what I could on line and it really gave me no answers so I was hoping to hear from someone who has taken clomid.

I didn't know you could get false-positives on an O stick. If that's the case, the best thing to do is BD x 3 per week of your most fertile time, imo. I start my first round of clomid this month. I'm interested to see what the responses will be.

Are you temping???? Clomid can make you ovulate Late. I was clomid resistant it didnt work for me. Do you have PCOS?? Feel free to PM me... do you have FB?

I've used Clomid for all my pregnancies and had no trouble with the OPK's- of course once I got a pretty strong positive I stopped peeing on them, so I don't know if it makes you positive for a long period of time. Temping can be annoying, but what it did for me was let me know more or less when I normally ovulated, so I didn't always have to temp religiously after a month or two when I saw a pattern and I could use the OPK's more strategically. But that's just me. Curious, what OPK's are you using? With my first pregnancy I had to use more expensive, name brand ones for some reason- the cheaper ones didn't work for me. The second time around though, they worked just fine. Wierd. Just a thought. Good luck!

Is your OB / fertility doc not doing a folical study ( ultra sound) for you each month after you take the Clomid?  My ob would not perscribe Clomid for me unless I did the ultra sounds each month on CD 12-14.  By doing these you will be able to tell exactly how many good folicles you are producing and what size they are etc.  If your folicles are of the correct size, they will give you the HCG shot and you will ovulate in the next 8-24 hours afterwards.  No guessing games with the OTC ovulation kits etc.
