Mommies of boys- question for you!
So, my twin boys are two weeks old today. One of them has something strange going on in the diaper area. He has regular stools that are yellow and sticky, and they seem to have dyed his skin! There are areas on his little (TMI) sack and around his bum that I cannot get clean! I have tried soaking in water, baby oil and cotton balls, wipes, etc. Any advice? I have no idea what to try next, and what to expect the first year makes no mention of this little development. Thanks!

I am not sure what to make of that...with Emad he has what is called a Mongolian spot that spreads across his bum and part of his lower back....looks like a faded bruise, yellowish/grey purple.....it freaked me out when I first saw it because I did not notice it the first few days...lucky for me the pediatrician explained it to me and let me know it would fade over time and it has and it barely noticable at all right now. Is it possible that this is what it is?
By the way...did you ever announce the names...I may have missed it but rememeber you were having difficulties with number 2?

My son had the same as Samara's...a Mongolian birth mark that has pretty much disappeared. They're more common with certain races...I'm not sure which races other than Middle Eastern/Arabs have them...but am sure there were a few other races that get them. My husband still has one that looks like a bruise on his lower back. As your pediatrician just to be sure..but it doesn't sound like something to worry about.
How about some pictures?!

the mongolian marks on my children was in the back diaper area, looks like brusing, both boy and girl. It does run in the darker races...my kids are balck and white but then my sis kids are black white and mexican..and they have it as well.if it makes you feels better I would take them to the doctors but if your kids are of a diff eth other than white then chances are it is norm and there is nothing to worry about... I was a preschool teacher for 5 1/2 years and there was not one of the kids of a diff orgin that did not have the marks.
