Not sure whats wrong with me... I have a miner sinus infection and my ears are bothering me... Yesterday I freaked out cuz out of no where I got a sharp pain in my back, followed by shortness of breath and then I could feel my heart rate drop. I thought something was wrong so I sat down after calling the hubby and told him to get home from work... After 20 minutes it was back close to 60 and I was fine the rest of the day... Now I was just up laying in bed, had a hard time breathing and a headache so I came down for my inhaler. I was just reading up and I had no idea it's normal for your pulse to be around 47ish if your healthy and active... I didn't know that... I also read that anemia can cause your heart palpations... I didn't know that...Now I am still on iron pills and I get my iron checked at my postpartum check up next Thursday.... I guess what I am trying to ack is has this ever happened to anyone? Is it really normal... I don't know if it's cuz I don;t feel right or it's been humid and I have asthma and allergies really bad too... I am a worry wart... If I don't feel better I am gonna call my doctor cuz it's very uncomfortable feeling and I worry being home alone with the kids all day long... Someone tell me I am over reacting...

thanks

Chrissy,

Bradycardia can also be cause by low thyroid (which can be caused by pregnancy), electrolyte imbalances, heart disease, and even just the blood volume shifting from pregnant to non-pregnant status. The symptoms you describe sure sound like bradycardia. Are you dehydrated at all? I would call your doctor. I would guess they will want you to be on a Holter monitor for a couple days so they can see what's going on. Bradycardia can also come and go, so the Holter is the most effective way to get an accurate look at what's going on. Good luck-hope you feel better soon!

I would definately call your dr. and get check out to make sure everything is o.k.  but the thing that struck me as I was reading your description is it almost sounds to me like you could possibly be having anxiety attacks.  I could be wrong, and they can also produce alot of physical symptoms as well.  The heart palpatations/breathing/worrying etc....  If they are, they can also be treated as well....

Just a thought.  I would definately give your dr. a call.

I agree with the previous poster... sounds like an anxiety attack.  When that happens, put your arms over your head, try to calm down, and try to take deep breaths... in through your nose, out through your mouth.  Sometimes, my arm or hand would go numb and tingly.  It's damn scary!
