OT: Sippy cups
Alex will be 9 months on Sunday.. boy has time flown by... and I have not found a sippy cup that he will 1)hold more than 5 seconds and 2)put to his lips more than 3 seconds.. So i am looking for recommendations. I've even started to just try to switch him to a straw sippy and he just wants to chew on the straws and not suck at all and then gets super PO'd that he's not getting anything, so I'm figuring he's just a tad too young for that.
Any recommendations?

We use the Munchkin that Tracy mentioned Lucas does awesome with those, we started with the Nuby with handles but Lucas can push the tops in they have a newer one that he can't though so look at them and you will be able to see, I like these types because the spill proof part is one piece, there are other kind with more than one piece to make it spill proof, oh and they are soft silicone, we have a hard top type as well and Lucas hates it. Okay so that was probably more info that you wanted...hope it helps some

Babies have a sucking instinct until they are about a year old. He probably doesn't like the way the top feels in his mouth right now. Try the soft top Nubys (which honestly just seem like a different version of a bottle to me) or let him use the bottle, then take it way at one year and give him the sippy cup. Hope that helps :)
Hannah was over a year old and still wouldn't hold her own sippy cup. She would drink out of the take and toss kind, but wouldn't hold one for anything.
My friend that had a 2 year old and a 10 month old came for a visit. Hannah saw the ten month old drinking out of a sippy cup and took it from her. I guess Hannah figured if this little baby could hold her own cup the Hannah could too lol. The cup was a gerber spill proof trainer.
Hannah never held her own bottle either. Can you tell she was spoiled (ok, still is lol).
Good luck! I think I'm going to start Noah on a sippy cup around 6 months and see if that will help any.
