Just found out today!
So my WLS is officially a success!
I am diabetes free and pregnant!
I have no idea what to do next. I know I should make a doctor's appointment and apply for WIC, those are a given, but what do I eat? What vitamins do I take? What vitamins do I add? What vitamins do I stop taking? What do I eat? How much do I eat? etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!! <3
I went to the women's center here in Erie today just to get another pregnancy test done - I'm in shock, I tell ya! - and it was positive, too. They also said my due date will be around Feb. 2nd. I go to an actual doctor and WIC this Friday and they said they'll prescribe all of the vitamins I need to take so my insurance will pay for it. A+!
I thought about calling my surgeon, but he's pretty retarded about the surgery HE performed on me, so I doubt he'll be all that helpful with this - the NUT, too. I'm just going to let the doctor on Friday know that I had WLS and just go from there. Plus I have people like you to talk to, so I'm not worried :)
Any other tips?

Yay!
Tips...let's see...
If the nausea gets so bad that you can't take pills (it happened to me!) get yourself some liquid stuff with folate in it? I know it's not nearly as good but that's what I had to resort to for a while. Adult gummy vites and a liquid capful of orange stuff for a month. My husband would try to disguise it in a smoothie. It was pretty vile but about my only option because any time I put a pill in my mouth I'd almost vomit. I even had a hard time brushing my teeth!
Don't worry about gaining too much or too little unless your doctor is concerned. Honestly I know everybody freaks out about this and WLS patients moreso but you just gotta go with the flow on this. The baby's health is the most important and your body will make sure s/he gets what s/he needs. Don't be surprised if you lose some more. (I'm still at -1 pounds but probably gonna start gaining these last couple of months.) And if you gain? Well, it's for the baby and when it comes out THEN you can start working on whatever you need to do for your body. Pregnancy is not the time to diet. Your only diet should be making sure you get enough carbs so you don't slip into ketosis.
Get your labs drawn! Consult with vitamin gurus about your levels!

Congratulations!!! to you and your DH. -
I am counting down the days until I am going to try for a baby post-op. Don't worry, (any avid readers), I will wait 12-18months and have my weight stablised.
I have no idea with the vitamins post surgery, but I do know that Andrea U's blog has a good section on pregnancy post WLS,

hope this helps some.
I'm already taking so many vitamins...I'll list them :) Most of them are from VitaLady who has been so wonderful.
Tender D3-50
Tender Zinc
Chelated Copper
Citracal
Sublingual B-12
Complete Multivitamin
Tender Iron
I have an appointment with a pre-natal doctor/ob-gyn this Friday and I'm sure he'll add some folic acid and other things so I hope I'll be okay!
Oh! And while I'm thinking about it, I did stop some meds today - I was taking Orap for Tourette's and Zoloft for OCD/anxiety. My psych switched me to Prozac and I have to pick that up on Friday.
