I had weight loss surgery on 4/13/10.  Dr. told me I would have to wait at least 12 months until I could try to get pregnant (one of the reasons I had the surgery was to hopefully get pregnant).  I will be 39 in January of 2011 and April, 2011 will be 12 months.

Just wondering if anyone who is/was 40ish who had WLS and had a successful pregnancy?

Hi, I am 39 and pregnant.  I am due in July.  My B-day was in Feb.

I know several people that started having babies in their 40's.

I haven't had any problems with this pregnancy either.  I am having a healthy boy.

Good luck on your weightloss and having a baby.

My surgeon said 12 months as well.  I accidentally got pregnant 10 months out of surgery, I was 35....I have a very healthy 3 year old daughter as well.

I waited a little over a year before trying. That one ended in a miscarriage. This time I got preggo almost 2 years post op to the day. I will be 38 this month and so far everything is looking good to a healthy baby in October.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.
