L&D Triage Today (Question)

Ok, baby had not moved/kicked for over 24 hours.  A nurse here at work this morning said you need to call your OB. I called this morning and they said to go to L&D and get monitored. I did and they heard the heartbeat for a second but couldn't get him to stay on the monitor. So, they called my OB and said she feels comfortable that they heard a heartbeat and to discharge me and keep my regularly scheduled appointments. That was at 9:12am. On my d/c forms it says that baby should kick 3 times in 30 minutes and to count for two hours to get three kicks in 30 minutes. Well, here it is 2:06pm - no kicks all day.

Now my low back is killing me and I have had loose bowels (sorry TMI). So, I don't know whether to call back or they will think I am a bother. I just don't know if he is just having an off two days or what??

**edited to add - I tried drinking orange juice, I ate lunch, and even tried something sweet trying to get him to move/kick. I normally feel him many many times throughout the day.

Thanks,
Traci

I called my OB yesterday to get checked out cause of an almost passing out event. Seriously, that's what they are there for. I would call back.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

If you feel like something is not normal for you (amount of kicks) or how you are feeling physically, I would definitely call the OB's office.  Like she said, that's what they are there for.

Never feel bad about calling or getting checked out.  I know if I hadn't felt kicks in several hours I would be nervous and have to make a call, even if just for peace of mind.

Hope all is well...let us know how things go.

Thanks everyone. I called and the OB office said they would have to talk to my OB and call back. "They were like what did L&D Triage say. Well, did they release you saying everything was fine." Blah blah blah. So, now it is just wait until OB calls back."

Hope all is well Traci. I would be a pest.

Just wanted to add that I was a little offended by Shannon's statement. My baby is real at this point and was real from the day it was conceived.

Thanks Amy!

Yes, to me any child is real at conception. I think her choice of words were incorrect. I think it should have been at this point there is a large chance that the baby could be delievered and survive outside of the womb.

I am glad your pregnancy is going well! I know that it still hard for me to believe I am pregnant since this is my 4th pregnancy and the first one to get to this point.

Thanks
