Found out I'm pregnant
Hi
I just found out that I'm pregnant which is abit of a shock but we are still very happy, it's an early blessing.
I am about 13weeks out from my op (down over 55lbs, still need to lose 69lbs) and still having trouble with drinking my fluids and protein. I have spoken to my husband about an alarm waking me up twice a night so I can drink so fluids (I have been waking up shaking and feeling queezy) and maybe eat on one of the times.
I am turning off my red meats which was the main thing I ate with cheese. All foods are looking more gross to me. The only food I have been wanting is chicken with fresh avocado, but can only eat a small amount. I can eat 60-80grms at a time 4 times a days.
What do you all eat? Any help would be great
Many thanks
Crystal

Congrats!
Eat what will go down. I'm not very familliar with the VSG, but if it will go down, then eat it. Your liquids are probably most important, along with vitamins. If you still can't get in all your protein, just do the best you can, but don't sacrifice being hydrated to do so! in the long run dehydration is more dangerous. I could never get in allthe recommended protein, but I just did my best and took a prenatal vitamin and an iron supplement. Good luck!

Congratulations!
I had my VSG on the 10th of February and am a day or 2 short of 11 weeks preganant so I too got pregnant very early out. I will say that while this one has been harder for me with nausea and vomitting you will do fine. I eat what I can. I can actually eat quite a bit of fruits and veggies, and still not alot of meat at one sitting. My Doctors (surgery and OB) have both said to eat what I can and that grazing is OK. They also both said that Since I was still obese that I didn't have to gain any and could even lose some without it being a problem as long as I was doing my best at eating and not actively trying to lose. I have lost 10 pounds since I found out I was pregnant at like 5 weeks. It has slowed way down which condidering I'm pregnant I am taking pretty good. I think you will be fine, just keep up with your vitamins and definately add more carbs than recommended to stop ketosis
