May have a problem...
Well, I had my first ultra sound on Thursday and everything looked great. I measured at 9 weeks 4 days. It was pretty exciting, and I couldn't believe how much that little one moves around. However, Friday I got up and had some brown discharge ( which I have had off and on since April 30) and called the Doctor. They said to rest and take it easy this weekend, but it could be the beginning sign of a miscarraige. Well, I have been taking it easy, but I still have the discharge and its even a bit heavier today. Now, it really is just when I wipe, or on my pantyliner (TMI sorry) but I am just seeing it more. No pain at all, though.
Anyway, I have been trying to remain calm, and I have an appt on Thursday with the Doctor, but boy, that is easier said than done.
I sure could use any prayer or positive vibes anybody could send my way.
Thanks,
Chrissy

Spotting and bleeding is common, especially after sex. So if you have had sex recently it could be the culprit. If you had a transvaginal u/s too then it probably caused the bleeding too. Since it is brown it means it's old blood too. Some women will experience bleeding all throughout their pregnancies right around the time AF was due, jus****ch some of those "I didn't know I was pregnant" shows.
The capilaries in our vaginas and near our cervix right now are stressed to they burst easily, hence why sex and TVU/S can cause spotting andbleeding after wards.
When I had my M/C in 2008 the bleeding increased, so if it's slowing down I wouldn't worry too much, but if your doctor is one who does multiple u/s scans I'd try skipping them since early multiple u/s CAN cause early m/c. I have references if you'd like them too.
But for now I wouldn't worry.

Mom to 8 ~ Adelyn Grace arrived July 8, 2010!
I know from experience how stressful it can be to be bleeding while pg. I hope you get good news Thursday that things are fine and that the bleeding is just one of those things they can't always explain.
Praying for the best results for you.

I had brown spotting/discharge from 8 weeks to atleast 30 weeks when I was pregnant with my first son. It never turned red, always brown and sometimes alot of it. He's now a happy, healthy and energetic 2 year old. My doctor said it's pretty normal, though there is no real reason behind it.
I will say a prayer for you.

Yeah, brown blood/discharge means that it is "old" blood/discharge... I had it too (every time I would have sexual intercourse in the beginning, when my baby implanted, after my first [vaginal] ultrasound, after my first pelvic exam, and after a rectal exam that I had to have due to a painful anal fissure.)
It was nerve wracking there in the beginning to say the least! But by about 13 weeks it all cleared up, and I have yet to see the brown spotting/discharge since! =)
I know it's very difficult to not worry, but please try. If by some chance it is a miscarriage, there is really nothing you can do to stop it at this point. =(
But good news is, it is a very common complaint for a woman to spot during early pregnancy! (But still, I remember how freaked out I was!)
Take care,

Im very sorry you are experiencing this. I have had alot of bleeding with this pregnancy, and it is scary no matter how many people/drs have reassured me. I am going on my 8th month and stll have it occasionally. I would follow the drs orders exactly and rest, rest rest! Hope your appointment goes well on Thurs, please let us know!
Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!
I had bleeding off and on throughout my first trimester and it is very scary. Every time it happened I couldn't think of anything but the worst, but all is well and they could not explain why I would have it. I hope and pray that everything is fine with your pregnancy too. All you can do is what the doctor tells you.
