Hi Ladies,

I just wanted to drop in and say THANK YOU for all the lovely well wishes.  I also wanted to say thank you to Erika for being my angel and posting the good news.  I have been on this board for 5 yrs now, through 2 complete pregnancies and 3 miscarriages... it always amazes me at how this board is so supportive and caring.  Thank you.

My birth story is relatively brief, considering it was a scheduled c-section.  We arrived at the hospital at 6am, they took us back to the recovery area to prep me for surgery.  Had to change into a gown, give a pee sample, have a quick NST, get an IV, get shaved (didn't need that portion... lol).  We sat around waiting to be brought back.  My BP was elevated due to nerves... the highest was like 160/112 or something like that.  Had the meeting with the anesthesia people, the PA that would be assisting my doctor and signed all the paperwork.  Went back to the OR... got my spinal.  I get really nervous and anxious anytime I get a spinal or epi.  So my heartrate was skyrocketing.  They made me take some deep breaths and calm down.  It's kind of like going to the dentist for me.  LOL  I was sobbing crying.. not because it hurts.. just get nervous.  After spinal, they laid me down and put the catheter in and got the show on the road.

Hubby came in and sat next to me.  They said when baby came out he could go over to the warmer and take pics.  When she initially came out, they told him he could look over the curtain.  He did for a brief second and sat back down.  LOL  I don't think the whole blood, guts and uterus laying around appealed to him.  While they were getting her out, there was soooo much pressure in my chest.... more than I had felt with any other csection.  Felt like an elephant was sitting on me.

Anyway... she was born at 8:38am on May 26th. weighed in at 8lbs 3 oz and 19.5 inches long (Erika put 19, but that is because my husband didn't listen entirely to the nurse when she announced it and that is the info she was sent LOL)  She is healthy and has cutest little fuzzy brown head of hair.

I had signed the papers for a tubal and doc checked that the baby was healthy and then he double checked with me that I wanted my tubes tied.  I said YES.... so he proceeded.  They patched me up with internal dissolvable staples... (never heard of those before) and some peristrips.

They sent me back to recovery and we were able to see Miss Londyn.  I had her nursing in the recovery room.  She did great the whole time we were at the hospital.  Starting last night (our first night home) we had a few issues with nursing on the left breast all of a sudden.. but we are working through it.  =)

They sent us home yesterday.  I am very bruised and sore.  I have a lovely new purple bruise on my belly... I think I overdid it yesterday and pulled something inside.  Other than that and the no sleep last night... things are great.  Here are a few pictures of Miss Londyn.

Thanks again ladies for all the support.

Hugs, Love and Prayers

OMG she has the cutest little round face ever! Even my 8 year old son said Awwwwwwwe while looking over my shoulder lol. Congrats on a smooth birth and a healthy baby. Glad to know that everything is going well. Keep us updated :) BTW, ive only been on this board for 7 months, but I love it too. I plan on sticking around for awhile lol. ? for you, do you feel any different do you think because of the tubal? I am considering having this done as well, but im kinda scared, because I hear stories about hormones and periods going crazy after. Keep us updated... :)

Jen,

Thank you very much.  We are totally in love with her.

As for the tubal... I don't think I feel any different than I did with any other c-section.  I have also heard about crazy periods and heavy flow and women having a lot of issues after their tubals.  That is one of the biggest reasons I didn't get a tubal after we had Sydnee.  We were not planning on any more children after Syd.. but I was scared to have the tubal because of the bad periods afterward.  I already have bad periods.  BUT, I talked to my doctor and they said that if after the tubal I have bad periods I can have a procedure called Novasure done.  Basically, it is an endometrial abalation (SP?) and they go in and remove the endometrial lining from your uterus.  Then you have very little period, but most women don't get any more periods after the procedure.

I love being pregnant and having children.. and I love my children (all 6, including my 1 step son) but my body is done, my checkbook is done, and I am very content with our family.  Little Londyn completed it... completely.  LOL

I think what we're going to do is if I have to have a c-section for some reason, then we have them tie the tubes since they are allready in there. Buuuuut if I go natural, then hubby gets to get a vesectomy lol. Ive been through enough! Dont need any kind of extra procedures lol. I too am done with having kids. I love them, but really this little girl was a pleasent surprise, since my boys are 10, 8 and 6. We are glad she is here, but dont want any more surprise attacks lol!

Im curious, do you know if the tubal can cause any issues with breastfeeding? Maybe I should post a seperate ? in the forum!  haha sorry im hitting you with so many!

No, it has no hormonal/or any side affects to breastfeeding.  However, most doctors and hospitals require that you sign the tubal paperwork 6wks prior to delivery.  So not sure how well your plan of action would work.  You could sign the papers and if you changed your mind, just tell them and they won't do it.  He asked me a few times before he actually proceeded to do the tubal.

HTH & good luck
