I'm 2 years post RNY and am 7 weeks pregnant today. I'm so worried about not being able to eat enough to nourish my growing baby. I've been eating every 2-3 hours and some days I'm even hungry 2 hours after I 've eaten. No morning sickness yet.  I'm sure its just excessive worry and that everything will be fine.  I just needed to get it off my chest.

I am 2 yrs out too, and no worries- you will be able to give your baby everything it needs. Your body has adapted now and is functioning more normally. I am eating every 2 hours or so as well, mostly because I am hungry all the time!!! Just eat the way you know is healthy (adding good carbs back into your diet if you haven't already) and you will be just fine.

:-) Congrats!!!

Congrats on your pregnancy!  I too was worried about not eating enough to sustain my little one but we've progressed well.  I never had morning sickness to speak of and I usually eat every 2-3 hours or whenever I feel hungry.  For the most part I've been able to eat and stomach whatever I've felt like eating - within reason of course.. At almost 34 weeks, I've gained about 15 lbs and my belly is still growing.  Just be sure to take your vitamins, get in enough protein and good carbs and you'll do great!  Welcome to the group btw!

Congratulations!  If you are maintaining a healthy weight, you will most likely be able to sustain a baby.  It really doesn't take that many extra calories to support a baby.  Most women eat more than necessary.  According to a website I just read, women do not need extra calories in the first trimester.  Then in the last 6 mos, you only need 300 extra calories per day, which is equivalent of a slice of whole wheat toast and 2 T of peanut butter.  Remember your vitamins and water.  I think excessive worry should be listed as a symptom of early pregnancy!  I know I sure had it like crazy.  Hang in there.  :)

Congratulations! Make sure you're eating enough to nourish yourself. The baby will get everything it needs! If you're still taking Gastric Bypass supp's - be careful of the excessive amounts of Vitamin A as they can be harmful to baby. I'm happy for you!

Thanks Cathie.  I haven't gone public and am not sure if you still talk to anyone at Trinity, but I would prefer if they didn't know until I'm ready to tell people.  Thanks :)
