Question - Can I still get pregnant?
My doc said it is highly unlikely that something like that would happen, with the tubes being tied. So, I thought I would come here and just ask. Has it happened? What are the chances?
I mean, if it did - I would take it a blessing from God, but I really don't want to start over with babies. We are not using any protection - other than relying on the tubes being tied.
I hope this is not just a dumb question being asked and thanks for any info you might share with me.

I honestly do not know who is telling you this or why. The RNY or Lap, which ever surgery you had, is your digestive system/stomach, intestines, etc which have nothing to do with the reproductive system. Your effective rate for the tubal ligation is just as one who is a non wls patient. One has no correlation to the other. WIth that said, if you did not have something like the tubal ligation, and were using oral contraception, then there might be some credibility because depending on your surgery type you will have malabsorption issues which can impact the effectiveness of the pill. DO people who have tubes tied get pregnant, maybe, very rare or very soon after surgery for the tubes tied, but again, I dont think this surgery impacts your chances for success at all. Hope that helps.
