Ooo Right and just a little rant!! Warning strong language!
She bought me an 800 dollar Dutailier glider chair. The sign on the chairs said "Get this chair in 7 days" So she ordered it. Apparently the white wood was not in stock in their storage center, so they had to order it from the manufacturer in Canada. They told her it would take 12 weeks. She REALLY wanted to get me that one, it is extra wide so Daddy can be comfortable in it, it reclines, glides and rocks. So I said it would be fine if it took 12 weeks and she ordered it.
Fast forward to a couple of days ago. My MIL brought the chair down to us. It sat in the babies room for a couple of days until yesterday when my hubby was off and could put it together, it came in 2 pieces.
Two days ago, my mom comes in my room and says "I was in my bedroom and a black mouse ran across my foot." We both thought this was weird because we occasionally get a mouse in the house but they are little brown field mice.
So yesterday we open the box, DH assembles the wood portion. He goes to take out the cushion portion to snap it on the wood and he goes "Holy ****" The baby and I were up in the room with him, I got up to look, there is a huge ******g mouse nest in the cushion!! There was dirt, leaves, shredded candy bar wrappers, the directions were completely shredded, stuffing was pulled out. I literally almost vomited. I called my step dad in to help Russ clean it and I took the baby downstairs. When we looked at the box further you could see the hole the little SOB chewed in and out of the box.
So I think there is still a Canadian mouse running around our house somewhere, there is a trap out and we have two cats running around, but they are pretty worthless.
So the BRU that ordered it is in PA so my FIL went in to return the cushion. Fortunately they were SUPER apologetic, gave us the floor model until they could get a new cushion in a few days from another BRU store. I personally think they should refund the 100 dollar shipping fee but at least were giving us a new cushion. They are SOOOO damn lucky they are switching the cushion or I would be driving my 4 week post pardum ass up there and *****ing someone out.
So although things worked out OK I'm still a little friggin ticked off. I kinda wanna call the manufacturer. What are your thoughts?

That is horrible!! I would be sooo mad because you BABY will be sleeping in that room for heaven sake!!
I have a funny BRU story also! I had gotten a $100 gift card as a gift and we were holding onto it to buy a car seat with it. I went into L&D one night for a NST and they had told me that I was having mild contractions. After that we went straight to BRU to pick up the car seat just in case baby was on its way soon. We got there and ended up having to buy the girl car seat because the gender neutral one was out of stock all over the state of MN so we took a chance. We got to the check out and they tell us our card is at a $0 balance. I said that there was no way! They checked on it and found that someone had spent the entire card 3 days after it was purchased in California. It was obviously hacked somehow. They tell me that we have to fax them a copy of the card and it will take up to 10 days for them to mail us a new card. The lady at customer service (over the phone) told me I was out of line and being rude to her by asking what she was going to do to fix this and how were they going to make up for this inconvenience. She then hung up on me. Needless to say we ended up buying the carseat w/ our own money that we didn't have and had to wait until after Anberlin was born to get our gift card back by mail. They did NOTHING to make up for the hassle and inconvenience they put us through. NOTHING! BRU can go suck it! lol!
Another thing that really erked me was that half of the stuff on my registry were either discontinued or out of stock by the time people were buying gifts for me. I didn't even register that early. That place just bugs me all together!

I think you will get farther with the manufacturer than BRU. I would call and politely explain the whole situation and if they are a good company it should be a no brainer for them to refund the shipping. I would in fact ask for the money back as a consolation for having a mouse running around in my house when I have a new baby.
I personally am not a fan of BRU. I think their stuff is way too marked up. They make it easy to get all your stuff in one place but, wow.
For instance, the fisher price rainforest swing is 40$ less on walmart.com, and even ships free. Ridiculous!
