I seriously have to get back on track... I gained 5 lbs back in a week... I am also swollen like a balloon still... But how the heck can I cut my carbs again... I couldn't eat them before pregnancy and then I got use to eating carbs again and now I eat to many...  I also noticed I am grazing a lot... I have to do the 5 day pouch test... I am breast and bottle feeding my boys cuz I dont make enough milk for the 2 of them... I only get like 20-25ml per booby every 3 hrs... not a lot I know.... Should I just bottle feed for the 5 days or will I still make milk... how does this work...lol any help is wonderful... thanks

My guess would be that if you stopped breast feeding and pumping for 5 days with a lower milk supply, that may be the end of your breast milk.  I am personally pro breast milk and any drop that you can give your boys is better than nothing.

I was pretty swollen after my delivery.  It took me about 2 weeks for the swelling to go down.  I think I had 20-30lbs of water weight on me.  I would try to avoid the scale for now.  I am too struggling with bad food choices, but I had an epiphany the other day.  Every piece of junk I put in my mouth is one less thing I will be able to do with my son like not fitting in the fair ride or not being able to bike with him.  That has had a huge mental impact on me.

I think it would be a good idea to check in with your doctor regarding the headaches.  Something might be off that is causing the headaches and impacting your weight - thyroid issues, blood sugar issues, anemia, etc.  A happy and healthy mom = happy and healthy babies :)

thanks... I am starting to get more milk in now days and I dont want it to end... My boys love it and I want to breast feed as much as possible for them... I think since I know I am eating wrong still... I can fix it myself without the 5 day pouch test... after I wrote this I was talking to the hubby and he said he will help me get back on track... even though he was eating a bowl of ice cream at the time...lol

they gave me a prescription for iron pills cuz my iron was extremely low due to a lot of blood loss during my section... but thanks again I am just gonna make better food selections and keep feeding them the mommy milk...

I wouldn't recommend it because you will burn ketones which are not healthy for the boys to consume. You can however eat healthy and eat just enough carbs from whole grains, fruit, and vegetables so that you are still burning calories without the ketosis.

When Riley was 13 months I started dieting and didn't care if I lost my milk supply. 16 months later he is still nursing one time before bed and I never lost my supply while losing 75 pounds. A lot of women lose weight nursing, I was not one of them. I always gain.

I can't remember how old your twins are now but I was 217 at my 2 week check up and 227 at my 6 week. I think our bodies sometimes fight the large loss of weight after a baby.

Thanks... the boys are almost 3 weeks and I was down a total of 48 lbs 10 days after they were born... I gained 5 back so far. I would rather try to eat healthy and see how I do then... I just want to keep breast feeding as much as I can for them... I thought about it more last night and the pouch test would be a last resort I don't think my pouch got bigger I still eat very small amounts...I am just making the wrong choices right now... thanks again

Im really glad you asked this cause I would like to do a 5DPT.  I actually asked my dr about it (the ob) and he suggested I wait until after I was done breast feeding. (i only plan to go about 6-8 months on the BF) He said the problem with the 5DPT is that unless for those first couple days you literally drink like 8 protein shakes, you will NEVER get in enough calories to supply the baby. Or in your case babies...lol.

I understand where your coming from, I have been horrible about eating carbs (i actually ate toast last night....yeah...just burnt bread with butter!!  HORRIBLE I KNOW!) and so much chocolate that I dont even recognize my post op diet anymore!!

I wish you the best of luck with getting back on track and will be right behind you soon!!
