Anyone wanna have a look at my fertility chart?
Okay, so, I've been keeping track of several things on fertlityfriend.com: OPK, cervical mucus, BBT, and sexual activity.
I'm confused. According to what it says about OPKs, they detect the progesterone, which causes you to get a "positive"... and it's supposed to show up BEFORE you ovulate. I got my positive today.
BUT, I'm also keeping track of my BBT, and I got a huge spike yesterday (from 96.5 to 98.6), which would indicate that I was ovulating YESTERDAY.
I've been having the egg-white CM for 5 days, now.
I know these things aren't foolproof. I'm just trying to figure out which one I should go by... or if I should keep track of both, still.
Thanks!!

Are you doing OPK's just once a day? I did mine twice to three times a day. I would get a positive more often later in the day or at night instead of the first early morning. That way I was catching the window closer- you could try that next cycle, because more than likely if you are temping at night you would get a positive that night and also one the next day too. Just a thought. I would wait until tomorrow to figure out the temp thing. Good luck.

I've been doing them twice a day for the last 3-4 days. I heard that the progesterone builds up in your body as the day progresses, so first morning urine isn't the best to use. I started doing one in the morning and one in the afternoon to see if there was a difference. This morning, the line was dark, but not as dark as the test line... and I just did another one a few minutes ago and it is definitely darker than the test line.

I know, right? I actually think the spike on CD15 was because I hadn't gotten my temping routine down yet. I don't think I O'd then because I had no cervical mucus.
I just did an OPK this afternoon, and it is definitely as dark as the test line. So it looks like today is my day... (or yesterday... or tomorrow.)

Just to clarify and to educate, it isn't progesterone that builds and triggers an OPK -- it is LH (luteinizing hormone). Progesterone is what is released AFTER you ovulate. It is released from your corpu****ueam, which is the empty follicle from which your egg released.
That being said, I would trust your OPK and assume you probably will/would have ovulated between late last night and tonight. For me, once an OPK is positive, I O about 12 hours later. My LH surge is fast. A one time spike in BBT that goes right back down can be attributed to a bunch of different things.
Good luck.
