High copper levels update
Well, I had my blood drawn again and while the number is down some it's still elevated:
Feb Apr May
144 213 189
Top end of the normal range is 155, so I'm off to see an endocrinologist. Talked to my RNY surgeon and he doesn't have any ideas, said it shouldn't have anything to do with my surgery. Talked to my PCP and she didn't have any ideas either, but said to get into an Endo if the number is still high. From what I've read they will probably test for Wilson's disease, not sure what else though.
I've done some reading, and the thing I'm most concerned about now is that high copper levels pass through the placenta and can cause high copper levels in the baby too. Of course some research says there is a correlation between high copper and ADHD and Autism, but I think there's a correlation between those and just about everything else in the world too. Sigh, so I'm working on not being worried and biding my time till I can talk to someone who hopefully can let me know what's going on.
