Thinking about ttc...questions...
Hello all... I am currently almost 18 months postop, all labs are great and I'm down to about 232. I started at 355.
I'm looking into plastics for the first part or middle of next year, a tummy tuck. I have about 20 lbs of excess skin I need to have removed.
DH and I really want our one last baby BEFORE the plastics... That being said, 195-200 lbs is my ideal body weight based off of my frame and height (6'2)... So I still would have about 20 lbs to go (not accounting for the ps) to get as close to goal as possible.
Is it unwise to consider ttc now, and working to lose the last 20 after the pregnancy, and then do the tummy tuck?
thanks guys for your help!

Hi Kim,
I think you're at a good starting point as far as your weight and how far out from surgery you are. I def. would not have plastics before pregnancy! As for that last twenty pounds, I guess that's up to you and how important it is for you to get to goal now - you'll get there, it's just a matter of timing.
Good Luck!

I would say start ttc all the while eating healthy and doing normal working outs. Maybe you can kill 2 birds with one stone and after you have the baby and lose your baby weight you might just end up below your starting weight. After plastics you will probably get right to goal anyway! Good luck ttc!!

I was still 20 lbs from my goal weight when we started TTC- For sure want to make it to goal, but it will happen after pregnancy. I may never get there- it might be a little low for me anyway. I don't regret TTC or the pregnancy- Even though I am not one of th elucky ones who have lsot but have gained steadily. That being said I don't feel super guilty because I don't eat a lot of crap or anything, so I figure a lot of it is just genetics. Good luck with the decision. It sounds like you've got things worked out.

It is totally up to you and what you want! Last year in February. my hubby and I thought we'd like to start TTC. Then, BOTh of us freaked out and backed off. I also knew I wanted a tummy tuck since I was at goal size - 10, but pants would not fit right with the skin. So, I decided to get my tummy tuck last summer, enjoyed the hell out of my year and am pregnant now. I have had people say, oh and you had the tummy tuck last year, it's wasted now. And, my response is, but I planned it that way. I wanted one summer where I could wear stuff I wanted, have a flat tummy and then I didn't care. And, now that I am pregnant and my flat tummy is slowly disappearing, I don't care.
I don't know if this was long winded, but the point was what makes sense to you and what you want might not always make sense to other people. Go for what'll amke you happy and make sure the hubby understands. In the end, it's my husband's support and lvoe and udnerstanding that mattered to me above everything else.

Hi Kim,
Wow, you have pretty much asked my question for me. I am 16 months post op from Gastric Bypass. I started at 332 and have lost 157 pounds, but would like to lose 50 more. I currently weigh 175, but would love to get close to 125. I am 35 and definitely hear the clock ticking. We have one child (6 yrs. old), but would like at least 1 possibly 2 more. I was wondering the same thing, if it's alright to begin ttc even though I'm not at goal yet and can I still get to goal post pregnancy?
